The crimes would be charged together. Still, I think it’s clear this does not rest on a federal charge.
I personally doubt only that misdemeanor charge will be brought.
As for what will absolutely not happen I can’t help but notice how until fairly recently people thought criminal charges against him absolutely wouldn’t happen. Now we are at prison absolutely won’t happen. I don’t think people have a good picture of how much criminal trouble this guy is in.
I think you're misreading the earlier posts ... I never intended to suggest that it required a fed charge, but that the only realistic charge that fit the facts would be the Edwards parallel. It doesn't change the point. It's unproven, and unprecedented. That's the reason it's being discussed as such.
And for the record, I've never said he won't be charged. I believe my guesses have wavered between 25-40% that he would be charged at some point, but that the outcome of those charges would be minimal (if at all) due to leaning towards minor/process-type crimes, delaying as much as possible, and other issues revolving around pristine virgin legal grounds that would all be appealed until his inevitable demise. He will never see any level of punishment that is commensurate with his actions.
