From Wikipedia
"Julius Rosenberg (May 12, 1918 – June 19, 1953) and Ethel Rosenberg (née Greenglass; September 28, 1915 – June 19, 1953) were American citizens who were convicted of spying on behalf of the Soviet Union. The couple were convicted of providing top-secret information about radar, sonar, jet propulsion engines and valuable nuclear weapon designs. Convicted of espionage in 1951, they were executed by the federal government of the United States in 1953 at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, New York, becoming the first American civilians to be executed for such charges and the first to receive that penalty during peacetime."

If Trump attempted to sell nuclear secrets he should be taken out and shot immediately.

This might make a better scene than going through the whole circus..

...He has never been one to do the right thing in general partly because he has never thought in those terms. He can't be bothered with thinking like that, too much trouble and above his intelligence level...
Above his intelligence level (which he'd never admit), but more importantly below his paygrade (which he'd proudly bleat).
Jury would just say home confinement if he only took the Kim love letters. Once it's confirmed he took nuclear documents, no jury won't throw the book at him
You have more faith in our Justice system and a jury trial of "peers" than I do.
How else were they supposed to get them? They already tried issuing a subpoena
That's the biggest point that pcgeekmanchild keeps ignoring or refusing to acknowledge, as if the avenue wasn't attempted and they just went in guns blazing. Purely for show 'n tell. Even though the orangutan is the one that made it public.
Yes, and he will almost certainly delay as long as possible. Much fewer people reading news on Friday afternoon/evening than Friday morning.
He'd drag his heels until the last second and beyond, simply to feel like he's still "in control", if for no other reason.

And just to be a dick. He's better at that than anything else he's ever done.

Hehe but it’s only a matter of time before he takes a trip to place without extradition treaty
That would be a satisfactory ending to all this, if he left and never set foot in America again. The denouement would be so so delicious!

why make him a martyr? I'd put in a 6x10 cell and let him die, old, cold and lonely

Hmm the rats actually do have a point they won’t cross? But here’s hoping these nuclear documents isn’t just something giving only benign info like total number of weapons without location. Anything else has to be considered treason.
Trump is the quintessential example of American treason. He's without peer in that regard. Both impeachments and now this. But it's worse.

Personally I’m not buying the Nuclear stuff…..
Unless…..
It’s something odd and mildly important like technical drawings of inside a nuclear bomb as in the largest one we have in our arsenal and maybe some some semi old school large rocket drawings. Stuff that almost everyone already knows or understands however there are parts that need to be protected.
The former President is like a 13 year old boy. He likes things that appear big and powerful, he likes to look at things like mechanical drawings but has no ability and no desire to learn how to read them. I could easily envision him wanting to keep something like that to occasionally look at or like 13 year olds tend to do with cool stuff like that or maybe a playboy, invite some friends over to see this cool Uber masculine stuff.
Otherwise I am no buying the nuclear rumors.

No, he's making the opposite point.

Yeah, I was. This has different spin if it doesn't pan out though. Think of how it'll be spun. Think of every advantageous way it'll be spun not just by Trump, but mirrored by literally every R in the entire nation, even right leaning independents and moderate democrats. I'm not sure the entire gravity is being appreciated. I don't need to spell and write every way possible it could be, use your imagination, but I'll give one: Current administration raids the home of a political opponent. Nobody likes their home being raided, it doesn't resonate. That shouldn't sit well with anyone on any spectrum. That's a line that you can't walk back from or apologize for, there's no whoops I fucked up. At that point you're all in with no return, you need something infallible and concrete to go down that road. Even if it's legal, the optics are irredeemable.

I cannot imagine the FBI went in on a hunch, I'm not that goddam smart and surely someone already thought what I have. We'll know more at 3 it seems. Perhaps the end of Trump perpetually being in headlines is here sooner than everyone thought.

Lawmakers, media pundits and Trump supporters have unleashed unhinged claims that the US is now nothing more than a police state, with a Gestapo-like secret police, and has descended into tyranny.
Do they have any idea what the Gestapo did? What Kristallnacht was like?

Fox News was already at this stage a few days ago. The truth of what he had or didn't have in his possession is totally immaterial to these people.
