With my new knowledge it wouldn't surprise me that this happens more often than we know.

One more thing is that if that is what happened (someone printed documents and walked out with them). Why did they place the appropriate Secret and Top Secret cover sheets on the documents? That makes no sense to me if they were attempting to secret them away.
This is Trump we are talking about here. Most of what he does and says doesn't make any sense.

They also could have been transported by proper means however they weren't destroyed by proper means.

Well, if in my hypothetical example, one of Trump's little fuckers asked some nerd to print out the doc, said nerd probably would have followed protocol and printed a cover page with it (assuming the printers weren't set to auto-print the cover sheets anyhow). Said shit just got scooped into the briefcase all at once, cover sheet and all.

The coversheets don't really help with keeping the fact you have secret docs anyhow, they just keep wandering eyes from seeing actual data. As you know, all the sheets have those massive banners across the top and bottom specifically so someone can't just meander around with secret docs un-accosted.

Of course they have controls over who sees classified materials. You need a clearance at a specific level in order to see them, then you need to have the need to know in order to see them as well as the accesses needed.

Once you do that and have access to whatever it is you have access to, yes, you can print out whatever the hell you want and take it anywhere your heart so desires. And if you get caught taking it to an unsecure space in the improper manner without a justifiable reason, you can and will get in trouble.

Please stop talking about stuff you have no knowledge of. You are spreading fake news like your entire cult likes to do.
And this is part of the reason we now get annual training on the insider threat and the associated indicators.

If he is charged and found guilty, I bet Trump gets added to the course content.

I apologise that Canada gave this fuckwit his citizenship back. I don’t think he knows that his pardon can’t really be reversed.

This is quite sobering has been a worry of mine.

Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen and former Trump National Security Adviser John Bolton have warned that 45 might be hiding documents at his other properties.

I am wondering when actual criminal charges are in the offing.

Since it's unproven, I guess we can call this speculation.

Probably posted, but now I understand why he's got shitty lawyers on his case.

LOL the funny thing is after I read that article you linked, I went and googled the name of Trump's latest attorney hire whose name is Lindsey Halligan. A Seth Abramson tweet with this photo popped up.

That's her, the brunette on the far left.

I guess if every respectable law firm is turning him down, he just pulls up a directory of licensed attorneys with headshot photos and picks the most attractive female lawyer he can find. Because being hot means you'll probably win in spite of having no experience whatsoever in the subject. Or at least, that is Trump's shallow and demented view of reality.

In his own words (2016, after the Hillary emails ruckus):

“In my administration, I’m going to enforce all laws concerning the protection of classified information... No one will be above the law.”

He always sinks his own ship with his words.

I agree, this thread is unnecessary. It is my assumption that the documents they found at Mar-a-Lago aren't the last of them.

You know, it is only a minor felony. Nothing major like hiding state secrets.

/s

Well, when you can say this kind of crap with a straight face, you’ll say anything:

Trump attorney Alina Habba on Wednesday tried to casually dismiss the Justice Department’s criminal investigation into former President Donald Trump’s hoarding of classified documents, claiming that potential acts of “espionage” and “obstruction” are merely “mundane statutes.”

You can't print classified documents; now Trump might have asked some nerd to transcribe the documents and then print then.... The reason hillary was using a private email server was so she could print emails. In her case the emails were not classified (though some of the information in them was sensitive and other contained information that was classified after the fact but not when she received them).

This is part of the problem with the federal govt. In the name of security a lot of stuff is not transmitted electronically but it also makes a lot of routine activity untenable.
