I see that all you want to do is fuss and attempt to belittle someone and not have a discussion.

I've made no comment about how white collar criminals get away all the time. They do, I never claimed that they didn't.

I was just speculating about how they were looking for classified documents of unknown lineage at Mar-A-Lago. When it would have been highly unusual from my experience in handling Secret and Top Secret documents in the military. They would already know what and who.

But feel free to keep kicking and screaming about the subject of the day.

But isn't it Fact that your experience is from lets say 30 years ago, because from your posts I know you are older than me.

Have you not seen how "the swamp got drained"? By plugging the outlet.

IMO they should have known what was missing exactly and who checked it out. It also seems unusual to wait 18 months to retrieve data that is this sensitive. They could have still gone in with a few agents and retrieved these without all the drama.
I know nothing of classified document protocol, but I assumed that signing them out/in would be a requirement at that level.

If that is true, then I'm sure investigators had that information long ago. The 18 months also encompassed the time that they requested the documents be returned. After a futile attempt or two, including a subpoena for said documents, then they likely dug deeper on which documents were missing and went hard on the investigation phase. This is all assumptions, though.

I'm a little appalled myself that it took 18 months tbh, but I also understand the caution that they proceeded with prior to the raid on the property.

As far as the 30 agents being needed...I think they just didn't know if they may have to deal with angry/armed throngs showing up if Donald started tweeting crazy shit. Again, just an assumption. I believe they knew that Donald wouldn't be on the premises, but if he was notified and started tweeting or posting on his site, etc...it could've been risk, and LEO will overkill before putting their own agents at risk.

And again, the "drama" was all Donald. Nobody else off-site would have had to know anything if Trump hadn't posted it online immediately.

News going through the orange monkey team response. Holy crap these lawyers going to get sued for negligence Like sure, they have a horrible client but Baron would do a better job defending his father.

edit - lolllllll. They are demanding a copy of all the documents seized.

What do you mean we can’t have the cocaine or the money back???? Unfair!

For me it's simple.

If I, a John Q Public, somehow used my influence (if I had any) to not only get hold of these docs, but then I took them home....what would happen to me?

Obviously the actual contents of the docs could matter, and we don't know what that is yet.

Whatever would happen to me, should happen to Trump, or Biden, or any other person who had them. Nobody should be above the law.

Some of these documents would get you interrogated probably beyond what the law strictly allows. The act of taking them alone would lead to a pretty strong presumption that you were committing treason.

These documents that he had all boxed up… these are the ones the FBI planted? At one point days ago, Trump demanded the documents be returned, but NOW they're planted?

“I did an excellent job organizing my stolen documents. Many people are saying it was the most organized carton they’ve ever seen.”lol

Ah ... Let him talk, or "truth", whatever. He just openly admitted that he had a carton of classified documents in his home and that he knew about it.
I’m sure his "lawyers" will be thrilled about this.

“Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.” – Napoleon

He's had some real unhinged posts in the last few days. Run a new election IMMEDIATELY!, Qanon and 4chan conspiracy nonsense. "Why is everybody so mean to me!". He's flooding the zone with shit to trigger, deflect and violence-up his base who believes everything he says.

I wouldn't be surprised if the whole search is on video, pretty sure the FBI is covering al their bases. There is probably surveillance video at most locations in Marl ago as well.

But is it really treason if you're a Russian agent (like Trump)? I was pondering why Trump had multiple passports returned - unless he has foreign citizenships...

Like if you went at the FBI for going too hard then I don’t feel you can go at them for being too soft.

It's an amazing turnaround, isn't it?

It's like...we're watching pcgeek realize things in real time what the rest of us knew weeks, even months ago, really. We've told him what is going on all along, he denies and complains that we can't know anything, he makes stupid arguments that reveal how little he actually knows or even cares to know what is happening BECAUSE WE MUST ALL BE SPECULATING!!! ...and then his brain is going back and forth right now as he starts to accept the basic facts that were established within about 3 days into this news.

it's just glorious. of course, his defense for his sudden realization of why he is surprised that what he wanted all along is exactly what happened, is to accuse the FBI of being far too slow and less, shall we say, "forceful and direct" about acquiring what they knew for a fact was still there? Is that what is now happening here?

It's fascinating.

That latest Trump post is amazing. Read it just above. His complaint is that it can't be a "big find" because the FBI didn't find them on the floor like that--they took them out of cartons.

Thanks for confirming that those documents were taken out of cartons at your place, nimrod. Somehow I think the fact that the documents are on the floor instead of hidden in cartons that you owned, at your place, isn't all that relevant. I wonder if he's just upset that other people are pawing through "his stuff".

At the very least no Trump supporters are going to be arguing that the docs were planted there, when the dude himself is admitting he had them.

His hang up is that the world might now think he's a slob (I mean, he is and everyone knows that. he probably actually doesn't understand that), and it really hurts him that yet another one of his thousand mirrors is being shattered.

Much as I dislike him, they were all USA. He’d have had a normal blue one and a diplomatic one, plus any expired ones.

At least there's an attempt there. Too many still spend more time trying to spin it the other way than trying to actually comprehend that what is happening is actually not a scandal against poor abused Trump. What makes it even more pathetic is that if it were anyone other than a ex POTUS it would have been a lot quicker and a lot more abusive. He's crying about how he's being mistreated, while anyone else would have been in cuffs already.

Mar a Lago is a sprawling museum of gawdy ass faux luxury. How many agents did it take to break in and kill Breanna Taylor in a small apartment? 3?

Now try and do that in something that is a 17 acre, 54 bedroom Kirkland's.

Of course that takes a lot of manpower.

I find it amusing that in the latest court filing (by Trump team) they indicate that no one should have been surprise that there was classified information information and therefore they should not have been alarmed; he then goes on to say they should have worked with him to retrieve such documents instead of sending in the DOJ (totally ignoring that they tried to work with him and they signed a sworn statement attesting that Trump did not have any remaining classified information). We all should know why Trump wants a special master and that is to delay the process perhaps until he has a chance to get re-elected and can pardon himself; but at the same time his filling is admitting his guilt as well as ignoring the facts that it is an admission of guilt.

I'm curious to see how the judge will rule later today given that the quality of the legal filing she is being presented by Trump's team.

I am also concern about just how long Trump can stall the process. Their next step, if they don't get a favorable ruling, will be to appeal and request an immediate stay from the appeal court (no clue if the appeal court would grant a stay (basically a delay n DOJ moving forward until they hear the case)).

Personally if I were the DOJ and i was confident that there was already enough evidence I would go ahead and charge Trump with a crime and request he be held without bail as a flight risk given his very public history of being unstable (though i would estimate chances are 90% the court would grant him bail with ankle monitoring).

Anyway the question is can Trump drag out things out until 2024 and if he can would a republican win the presidency (whether it is him or someone else) who can and would grant him a pardon.... and that is how justice works in USA.
--
I should have said this is why the case in Georgia is so important; if he is found guilty of tampering in Georgia election; he can't be pardoned by the president (though the governor of Georgia could pardon him).

As bad as this obviously is and no matter where the smoking gun(s) lead, in the end they will say... never prosecute a former president.
And that only proves justice is not equal under the law. You can have the goods on someone and where everyone else would go straight to F-ing jail for a long long time, but a former president?
Aw no, we better not touch that one. Just give him a cookie and let him go. Go, go on to further destroy American democracy. We have more cookies...
