Presidents don’t go to jail. That’s a reality America has to deal with.

Well, they never have in the past, anyway. Maybe Trump shook up Washington in ways nobody anticipated. Pence will probably pardon him the same way Ford did Nixon should it come to that.

NYS has approached this in civil courts, so far. We're a long way from any State criminal indictments of the Trumps. Pence can't pardon Trump for State crimes, however, giving State authorities license to tear down Trump's empire & leave him with just a couple of acres. The schadenfreude of Trump seeking a pardon from Cuomo would be delicious.

Schneiderman & Underwood laid the groundwork for this woman-

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/do...ans-wide-ranging-investigations-trump-n946706

Donnie hasn't played the game well enough to withstand the scrutiny Presidents receive. He's out of his league of sleazy dealings.

He has no chance after he's out of office. There is already criminality found so it's a matter of doing a world class investigation into everything he's put his hand to including the Organization and any personal business dealings including those with Russians and possible money laundering. First, take every cent he has then throw him in prison for the rest of his life.

This is the woman one wants on a prosecution. Schneiderman wasn't near her league.

They aren't going after him criminally until he's out of office but if our AG wants him then he goes straight to hell and neither his businesses nor his family have to wait for Daddy.

Schneiderman & Underwood served the cause of Justice. I'm sure James will do her best, as well. It's not just about the person at the top, either, but about all the people working for them doing the same.

I never said Schneiderman wasn't. I'm saying that if one had to face a legal enemy there is no worse nightmare than Underwood and she has first class people. She's our gal.

Hate isn't in play but something worse and that is the truth laid before you. It is understandable that justice terrifies you. No, not a rope and tree, but that properly administered after lies and crimes exposed.

You need to read the link I posted at #3. Underwood is returning to her job as solicitor general & James is taking her place as AG. James is now the AG. I'm sure they'll get along famously.

It's all Bad Things for Trump, very Bad Things. How bad? We'll just have to wait & see. If Trump can escape the clutches of the Special Counsel, the SDNY & the NYAG he'll be the bigly-est weasel of all time.

Federal he might but he's already had his charity fingered for criminal activity and the responsible members named. Now they are going after Trump's assets for which Trump has no special exemptions. There's also a potential point of interest along the lines of criminal indictments by NY.

Understand that I don't mean NY tries to criminally try a sitting President however the beauty of indictments is that they stop the clock on statutes of limitations. After Trump is no longer in office then criminal consequences may be had. I may have a contact still in state prosecution and perhaps I can follow up but he might be retired.

Yup, you guys keep living in a fantasy land.

I'm not denying that he should be in jail - but you guys keep having these cute dreams of... impeachment... and criminal charges... and investigations... It's getting pretty cute.

Agreed. Whether he deserves to be in there or not is irrelevant. Presidents (or runners up)don’t go to jail. Talk of locking him (or her) up is just each side frothing at the mouth. It’s not gonna happen.

Edit: and I wish that weren’t the case, but it’s he reality.

I suggest you come to NY and talk to the prosecuters and tell them they can't prosecute a criminal. The reality is that no President has been a criminal anywhere near this in modern history. Now you explain to us how a woman who could eat Trump for dinner can't fufill her legal duty? You are looking her in the eyes and saying Trump can't go to jail.

When you get your ass back it won't be in a MAGA hat.

You keep living in a fantasy land where a Republican Congress could protect Trump. Maybe he can escape Federal time, but that's not what we're talking about here. If you have a law which says former Presidents can't be prosecuted then we'll have a look. We're looking at raw meat for the lions.

You're getting to the level of "Hillary and her crooked emails" level of things. You will not see Donald Trump behind bars at any point in the near future (10 years). Guaranteed.

Again, I don't want that to be the case - I'm simply telling you what will be the case.

Heh. I figure the best we can hope for is that he's sentenced to house arrest in his penthouse high atop Trump Tower. With no twitter, of course, which would probably kill him in a few short years. Reminds me of this cartoon-

Yeah, I'm certainly no Trump supporter but I'll be very surprised (pleasantly) if he ever spends any time incarcerated.

The investment of magical powers probably isn't accurate. You don't live here in NY, do you.
