It's an increasingly tolerant and "colorful" world, and that's what Maga is all about. They want to set the clock back to 1955, when blacks couldn't vote, nobody saw teams of Mexicans working their asses off everywhere because it's too hot for whities to be in the sun, and women mostly knew their place in the kitchen. Maybe 1919 would be their ideal date, before Women's Suffrage.

My elementary school had maybe 100 kids per grade, and one black kid. My son's schools have been as multi-cultural as can be, his friends span the rainbow of colors and types. Fucking awesome. And speaking of rainbows, there's a gay club at his high school--I can't even fathom that being a thing back in my day. Sounds like progress to me. And people that don't like it can go sit on a rusty fence pole.

Then you have all that newfangled pesky environmental meddling. Hell, a company can't even dump its mercury in the river under Joe "Stalin" Biden, saving us tons of money! And who gives a shit about some river bird and a bunch of fish, we had DDT back in the day and it was awesome before the treehuggers got all nosy.

Combine that yearning for the good ol white is right days with massive social misinformation and awful "news" and you have droves of angry bitter old people. I live in the state with the most numbers of them by % so I should know.

Bottom line--people like that aren't worth engaging, or listening to. Die off already and take your 1955 dream world with you. Stop fucking up the current times with your denying climate change and trying to deny human rights to certain humans.

It's far more about presentation than reality. I live in Trump country, in the "worst" state in the union. If you came here to visit for a few weeks all you'd find is a lot of polite friendly people who want nothing more than a quiet life and a family. The extremists and idiots get all the press, and there is no shortage of them all across the spectrum.
Every Trump voter I know supports Trump as a reaction to a political direction they're very uncomfortable with, not out of hate or the desire to punish.

It is only nice if you are white, straight and Christian

20 years ago I'd have agreed with you about the wingnuts being on both sides but now... well honestly all the batshit crazy stuff seems to be coming from one side. And not just from random crazies on the internet, actual "legit" politicians.
Fair enough.
We're well into the politics of hate, and I see the extremists as little more than an expression of that hate. My only real hope is that it calms down before it reaches critical mass.

You live in Texas as well?

If you came here to visit for a few weeks all you'd find is a lot of polite friendly people who want nothing more than a quiet life and to punish all the non-white people for living in the country God gave to the white man. The extremists and idiots get all the press, and we vote for them because they tell us scary things like democrats are going to knock down our doors and steal our guns and brown people are going to make pizza out of babies.
I live in one of those 'worst' states as well. I've talked to the average person that votes Republican, which around here are most people, and yes they really are hateful. I understand it is because they are afraid, and they are afraid because they believe the bullshit that Republicans spew. They believe that trans people are predators, that gay people are somehow dangerous, that taxation is bad, climate change is a hoax, green energy is going to end their way of life, and most importantly that democrats are the enemy instead of just more Americans that want a quite life and family as well, but just think that we can all do that by cooperating instead of trying to kill each other.
Every Trump voter I know supports Trump as a reaction to a political direction they're very uncomfortable with, like the practice of democracy and freedom.
This is the real truth. You can't again and again vote to take away freedoms from the people you don't like and say you want a free country.

They are voting for a convicted felon who tried to end American democracy because they don’t like the ‘political direction’ the country is headed in?

Does it bother you that the political direction THEY want is to return a guy who attempted a coup to power? It would bother me.

This is the single dumbest thing I have read from you. People want a quiet life so they vote for a raping, racist, felon, conman who cheated on all his wives and is blatant misogynist ? Trump believes sea level rise will increase beachfront property. That his level of dumb. Are you kidding me with this bullshit? You live in bizarre world. Your “quiet people” that want to vote for Trump are one or more of the above including you.
Don’t forget the coup attempt! They are voting for the guy who tried to overthrow the government because he couldn’t emotionally handle losing.

Because they've been terrified of a perceived future reality by a propaganda engine and a despot who wish to control them in order to gain power.

Their reality is an illusion and they're reacting to it, primary by voting for people who will provide the hellscape they're so desperate to avoid.

Imagine the total cognitive dissonance, how sick in the head people have to be, to think that people who support Trump still, hate is not a part of it. That's his main draw to them.

What a piece of shit this guy and all his Trump supporting acquaintances. They are Nazis.

actually, you have Allan Dershowitz's opinion, not yours.

Allan Dershowitz is a long-proven fraud and huckster. He has no actual weight on any legal matters that any credible person will give him from the past 4 decades, at least. Also, he's a pedophile rapist and a very great friend of Epstein. So, you keep great company there with other people's opinions.

You might know these things if you actually read. But you don't.

Remember how you kept telling us that you never watch Fox News? LMAO! Who the fuck do you think still gives Allan Fucking Dershowitz any time to speak these days? lol, you fucking clown.

I've Never said I never watch Fox News. You can quit making up things. It wasn't just Alan Dershowitz I quoted. Your selective reading is showing.

Several of the other pieces had basic factual errors in them and/or glaring omissions though, and not about small things.

Now, now, they don't hate gays, blacks, or women, they just all need to get back to having the decency to be ashamed of themselves, knowing their place, and shutting up and popping out babies, respectively. What's hateful about that? You just have to make such a big deal about everything. Things didn't used to be like this, and it's all the democrats' fault.

And it would never occur to them to question who is feeding them this illusion, nor why they keep buying into this same old horse shit.

your other source was already properly pilloried.

Again, why do you hold up the guy that got OJ acquitted, is largely shunned by his peers for being a drunken lunatic, raped teenage girls, and was very very good buddies with Epstein?
I notice you didn't really even mention it in your repsonse, just deflected to the other lunatic that you mentioned as "a source."

so does this mean that I convinced that Dershowitz isn't really a character that you want to champion as "clear minded" about important things?

Him pumping up Dershowitz is a feature, not a bug.

So you heard it from someone else who got it fro Dershowitz
I don't know what you are attempting to say or imply here.

Several of the other pieces had basic factual errors in them and/or glaring omissions though, and not about small things.

Of course they did. I posted them as legal opinions from actual lawyers. Not prominent internet lawyers such as yourself and zinfamous.

It doesn't matter whoever I cite will be eviscerated by you and your minions even if you have to make shit up. Maybe the appeals court will ask you for your precious legal opinion on this before they decide.

Looks like you are wrong as usual.

In a statement, Giuffre acknowledged that she may have made a mistake in identifying Dershowitz as one of her abusers.

"I have long believed that I was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein to Alan Dershowitz," she said.

"However, I was very young at the time, it was a very stressful and traumatic environment, and Mr. Dershowitz has from the beginning consistently denied these allegations. I now recognize I may have made a mistake in identifying Mr. Dershowitz. This litigation has been very stressful and burdensome for me and my family, and we believe it is time to bring it to an end and move on with our lives."

Dershowitz also released a statement.

"As I have said from the beginning, I never had sex with Ms. Giuffre," it said. "I have nevertheless come to believe that at the time she accused me she believed what she said. Ms. Giuffre is to be commended for her courage in now stating publicly that she may have been mistaken about me."

What are you citing for calling him a drunk and a lunatic?

As for him defending OJ: As I read it he was a defense team member and a Defense Lawyer by trade. That was his Job. The defense didn't get OJ off the hook, the jury was going to let him go regardless due to the racial tension from the Rodney King beating.
