‘He will never be indicted!’ - Trump is indicted.

‘He will never be convicted!’ - Trump is convicted.

‘He will never serve jail time!’ - we will see!

People who say he will not see jail time could well be right as it is uncommon for first time convictions. That being said, there are major aggravating factors here that could lead to jail time. Namely that he has a well established court record of fraud, so in many ways he is not a first time offender.

I forget to pay a parking ticket I go to jail but this motherfucker's going to walk from a felony conviction with 34 counts with probation and at worst home confinement.

It’s going to be home confinement. No way he’s going to actual jail

This will look good in the history books. Not to mention the two impeachments:

Wins razor thin the presidency, loses trying for 2nd term, claims he lost by virtue of voter fraud (all courts deny every allegation), foments riot in Capitol to prevent his opponent being affirmed. Later is convicted of felonies by virtue of having won 1st term by virtue of hush money coverup of earlier tryst with porn star. GOP goes along with him the whole way. Does the GOP stink or what?

Introduce him as follows every time: The twice impeached, racist rapist, criminally indicted, and convicted former POTUS, DJT.

That won't be the history books if he wins in November and turns us into a fascist dictatorship. At least not until his government is overthrown one day.

Apparently, Trump was staring at the jury while it was read.

"That was a perfect verdict. Never has there been a more perfect verdict. Grown men, with tears in their eyes, say it’s a perfect verdict."

Oh, And Godspeed to those jurors. Please be careful out there!

But all of that is true. Depends on what history book you read. If you want the facts, those are the facts. Or you can read a white-wash. The choice is yours.

Yep, if nothing else, I'd be throwing that in the face of any maga types you run across.

Of course, that's a non-zero chance of getting shot in "self defense" here in FL with our nutbag gun laws.

With any luck, it might influence some of those non-political "both parties are the same!" "I don't worry about politics until the election" independents. They are many, perhaps this will get the attention of some.

I really hope those jurors manage to remain anonymous for their sakes.

Only after he's exhausted his appeals in NY courts, and only of there was an issue of superseding federal law/unconstitutional (per federal constitution) NY law.
Although I personally believe the legal argument is fairly solid, it's not a slam dunk. These convictions are felonies only in the furtherance of another crime; and if the feckless FEC DGAF about that, then Trump has at least some chance of winning an appeal?

There's often confusion on this, as even many ITT think this case was about hush money (not illegal), or that the payments were directly from campaign funds (they weren't).

I forget the specific verbiage used to characterize this plot as a federal campaign finance violation, because the money was not directly spent on the campaign itself. Ultimately it seems like there's a path to SCOTUS, and we kinda know which side the Roberts court is partial towards.

Obligatory Vox indictment explainer that covers some of the legal aspects:

Lets start by CUTTING OFF HIS LEGS so he can't run on a plane headed to Russia!!! lol
You have this all wrong. If Donny Diapers wants to flee to Moscow, and pledges to never return, it would take us about 5 minutes for a GoFundMe campaign to cover all the travel expenses. ONE WAY only.

I'm talking about the history books that'll be used to brainwash the youth in American schools.

SCROTUS is irrelevant in this instance. It's possible that they could decide something after their next term starts in October, but they're already in such deep shit, they'd be smart to just STFU

Under NY law, you don't have to be convicted of the other crimes to be found guilty of these felonies. That makes it distinct from Federal law that many commentators are familiar with.
