There's a slim chance but that's all it's a slim to none chance. People trying to convince themselves that Trump is going to jail for this indictment just don't understand our judicial system very well

If he’s convicted on the felony counts he will go to prison. Looks like he’s in deep shit too as the hard part was always showing this was done to influence the election but apparently they have him asking if they delay the payment until after the election so they could stiff her as after the election it wouldn’t matter if it came out.

We can hope

This is more Galaxy brain takes. Who exactly who didn’t vote for Trump in 2020 is going to vote for him in 2024 because he’s been indicted in over 30 felonies and counting?

Seriously, who are these people supposed to be?
Again, you are underestimating the stupidity of iNDePeNdeNT voters. Especially as Biden's ratings continue to slowly crater.

Ive been following this on CNN all morning, and the majority of panel members is similar: this is a weak case, and it likely will be dismissed.

Which has to be proven. Remember...not guilty != innocent. Ive not heard anyone say he's innocent.

What we already know is that Cohen made a hush money payment, then Trump writes Cohen a series of checks over 9 months which "coincidentally" came to the exact same amount as the hush money payments. And Trump had them recorded in the leger as payment for legal services, without invoices from Cohen.

The main thing that remains in question is what underlying crime is Bragg relying on to make this a felony rather than a misdemeanor.

Haven’t we pretty conclusively proven but this point that I understand the electorate better than you? Haha.

His ratings went up but please dont concern yourself with facts.
Also its over a year til elections and its been more apparent every year since I was born the Average american has a very short attention span. This will be another propaganda war. A campaign to see who can sling mud the best.
Remember, Donald barely lost and I still suspect it was because we were right in the middle of a pandemic.

And this seems important to me - he’s tying it to violations of New York election law. In the summary Bragg claims that he has Trump saying that he would like to hold the payment until after the election because then he could avoid paying her at all as after the election it wouldn’t matter if it came out.

It always seemed to me that proving the payments were to influence the election would be the hard part but if they can establish Trump said that it seems to go a long way to proving the underlying crime.

According to Cohen, he was actually paid $450,000 back

Yes I just watched Bragg's presser and the statements about those underlying crimes were a bit vague. I'd like to see the statutes. And of course, I have the question why Trump was not prosecuted then or now for the other crimes. I get why they couldn't prosecute under the federal election laws but some explanation is required for the state laws.

Another thing that confuses me is Vance saying on Meet the Press that this crime has never been charged as a felony, then Bragg saying this morning that his office has prosecuted this as a felony "hundreds of times."

I was listening to the radio a few minutes ago and the 2 CNN reporters that were talking certainly did say that, from the documents they had read so far (which they admitted was not everything), this case was very thin.

Just passing by to mention that they got around the statute of limitations because for this sort of case at least, it only registers for time you spent in state. That was new to me.
