While this decision took slightly longer than I thought it would (by like two weeks) it proceeded more than fast enough to ensure Trump's trial is done before the election and the result was exactly what I (and every sane person) predicted.
DC should refuse, but it's not a slam dunk that they will. There may be a need (for optics) for them to affirm with a larger unanimous decision. Either way, it'll still add some cycles.
