Today, government conspiracy theorist tosses up leaflets in front of the courthouse, douses himself in accelerant and self-immolates. Taken by ambulance to hospital in critical condition.

I know that it was the guys own choice but no one deserves to go out like that. And I know the Stinky Don is just going to love that someone died for him.

I hear he ain't dead yet. Edit: He's reported dead now.

Seeing as Don's followers have no taste or discernment, being the opportunist he is he'll get away with throwing them that slab of half cooked meat to chew on in social media or whereever he can get away with it.

This guy denigrated Trump as well as Biden, saw both as The Devil.

I'm not sure what the what? is, but the article I read said that Trump had not actually given the bonding company ANY of the $175 million, but had put it in an account "pledged" to them. I don't know the technical conditions of an account "pledge", but I sure could envision Trump losing the appeal and the money somehow managing to magically disappear from the account.

well, it appears that the "pledged" account is in the DJT Revocable Trust and not under the bond company's control. Trump still has access to the funds, he's still able to make withdrawals, or replace the funds with other assets that could fluctuate with the markets. No way that could possibly be a problem, right?

The attorney general has filed a "memorandum of opposition" to the company holding the bond and a hearing is scheduled for Monday.

NY AG Letitia James challenges legitimacy of the $175 million bond. Looks like she has a solid case.

Was the account statement from Trump claiming $175,000,000 including the extra sharpie-added digits?
I don't think so. But the insurance on the account was through a shady offshore Cayman Islands setup. Also, the offeror of the bond, KSIC, only has enough equity to post a $14 million bond by accepted standards. Also KSIC has been in violation of statutes several times in recent years.

After a judgement, Trump & company will have 7 days and if they can't come up with an acceptable bond, NYC may well be selling off Trump's assets while he sits on his ass in a NY courtroom.

I just don't see why people are so upset about Trump being a criminal. America is the land of opportunity and he made it all the way to the Presidency by being one. He's an inspiration to millions, no? And not only that, he's Russia's Agent Orange.

So what's to stop him from posting bullshit bonds from now until he dies? No penalties for wasting all this time with a fraudulent bond?

Confiscate current fraudulent bond. Timeline gets reset to original deadline so NY can start auctioning properties.

The thing with a bond is that it's essentially good so long as the conditions are met. Unless the holder of the bond physically gives it back or destroys it then it can still be called. My understanding is that if the AG's motion is successful then the judge will likely rule that the conditions bonded against will reinstate but he won't order the AG to destroy or give back the bond. That means the AG can seize property AND still call the bond of the seizures are insufficient.

No surety will dare post bogus bonds after that.

Also, likely the court will refuse any bonds not posted by a NY admitted surety.

It was Trumps job to figure out how to produce a bond that met the requirements

He did not so it should be open season on his properties

Remember in the EJ Carroll trial one of his lawyers (I think Habba) could not figure out how to submit evidence…

It is Trumps incompetence for hiring shitty lawyers and putting himself in this situation

Submitting a scam bond after getting a reduction and extension seems like something the courts will not look kindly on. Not sure how much precedent there is for something like that but if I had to bet they will not accept much more dicking around.

Lol summary of the hush money case
I don’t think it’s incompetence here, just criminality. Trump (correctly) realized that if it came out he was paying hush money to porn stars he probably would have lost as his margin was razor thin. It arguably made him president.

That being said the tricky part is proving it, even though they have an edge due to the location of the trial. My opinion is that the Judge is also biased by his one sided gag order and obvious contempt for Trump.

trump is being a stochastic terrorist. any other defendant would have been gagged long ago and dealt with much more harshly.

I have been hearing that for a long time and still waiting. Is it Tuesday the judge is scheduled to rule on Trump's gag order violations? Anybody else would already be in jail. We will see if the judge has any teeth. I keep hoping and have seen only disappointment. Equal under the law has proven so far to be bull shit in my opinion.
