LOL I loved how Trump whined on Truth Social that the NYPD was blocking off streets around the court house so all his MAGA cult people couldn't come to protest and show their support for his greatness.

Multiple pics from muliple sources showing absolutely no barricades, or anything even close. And there was a single Trump support there. To lie about something that's so easily verified as bullshit kills me. It's like he doesn't even attempt to make his lies believable. I know his MAGA people will eat it up and complain though so I guess his bullshit's still getting thru to who he wants to believe it. Because the MAGAs were sure outraged on YT over this. And his lawyers are doing a real bang up job these first few days.

Between his stupid ass being unable to not talk, and his lawyers being near worthless, I don't see how this case ends in anything but guilty.

Again, it just takes one to hang the jury. And there are a few that sound like they may

You don't see the protestors because the streets are barricaded, duh. Biden is ruling with an iron fist.

That's my fear as well.

Was listening to an interesting discussion about the selection process and how it wasn't the greatest in that regard. Have an Article 3 acquaintance that agrees.

I’m curious at the ones both sides striked? Right they have to be selective in the first half of the pool.

From what I have read about this is that it hinges on the intentions of Trump. It also is not illegal to pay "Hush Money". It is an easy move to say it was to protect his family from embarrassment of the sexual escapades. Also the labeling of this as a legal expense would be an easy mistake if so by an accountant as he was paying his "lawyer" for services.

I'm not a lawyer, but I see significant doubts and holes in this being a conviction. They also have the worse witness' who seems to have a huge axe to grind. The biggest plus for the prosecution is where the trial is being held.
The case is very complex and the media has not communicated it properly to the public. The media is calling it a porn star payoff hush money case. That is not the crime. It is not illegal to pay off a mistress. The crime is falsifying business records.
  1. Prior to the election, Trump was concerned that news of an affair or an illegitimate child would decrease his chance of being elected.
  2. Trump conspired with several people, including Michael Cohen, to pay off individuals to not come forward with these types of stories.
  3. Because these actions were taken in order to limit damage to his presidential campaign, they are considered in-kind campaign contributions.
  4. These in-kind contributions exceeded allowable contribution limits, and were never reported by Trump's campaign.
  5. Trump reimbursed these individuals for the payoffs through his personal/business accounts so there would be no public paper trail showing he was writing a large check to a porn star. He falsified his own business records to state that payments made to Cohen were part of a legal retainer and not for reimbursing Cohen for paying people off.

Excellent explanation and thank you for the clarity regarding the trial.

Ask yourself this; do his followers ever fact check him? No, right? So why would he need to moderate himself? Out of some moralistic ideal? Lol! Are we talking about the guy who had sex with a porn star while his wife was pregnant? Are we talking about the guy who committed charity fraud? Are we talking about the same guy who would hire small firms and not pay them because when those companies would sue, he could settle for way less than what was billed? That all happened before he was president too and none of his followers even batted an eye over that. Telling the truth is for suckers.

Thank you! And you are right, the way the media has been covering this has been a dereliction of their duty. Committing campaign finance fraud isn’t as juicy as porn star hush money./smh

You know I bet if he just listed it as campaign contributions even though they exceeded limits I bet it never would have been an issue as the FEC or whatever governing body oversees that stuff seems damn near worthless.

I agree with everything except that the case is complex. Trump falsified business records to hide illegal campaign contributions. That’s basically it.

The whole thing is incredibly sloppy and it left a huge paper trail.

The whole thing is incredibly sloppy. Trump wanted to pay off Daniels and rather than him doing it himself he asked Michael Cohen to go out and get a home equity loan and then use that loan money to write a check to Daniels. Then Trump paid Cohen back. That's a huge paper trail.

That's not how I understand it to be. I thought Pecker paid McDougall and Trump wouldn't pay him back. When it was time to pay Stormy, Pecker wouldn't do it and get screwed again so Cohen paid it instead.

I was just thinking the same thing yesterday. Just make it an election expense and take your chances with the feckless FEC. They haven't done shit for years.

What's actually making things complex for the justice system is how the authorities are bending over backward to treat Trump with kid gloves along with Aileen Cannon dutifully and shamelessly assisting Trump with his delaying tactics.

Although we'll be seeing the Republicans pulling every dirty anti-constitutional trick that they can think of toward cheating themselves wins in November, should Biden get the nod, Trump is going to be in a very bad place after January. With him being stigmatized as a loser, and with the thought that Americans really dislike losers in general, it seems Trump would no longer be of any use to the the party he left in shambles.

I'd also like to see if the House Freedom Caucus is going to survive Trump's loss or will it transform itself into another version of the Tea Party again.

His followers alternatively think Biden has a lockdown, or it's somewhere between Escape from NY and Mad Max on the streets with gangs of roaming militant "refugees".

As someone else mentioned, they are probably all terrified to go there and support him. Not enough pickups and confederate flags around for comfort.

Honestly, unless Trump is in prison somewhere, I think he has a better than 50/50 chance of winning against Biden. The right is spinning the border issue as a Biden problem, the inflation problem as a Biden problem, the economy for average Americans as a Biden problem...and, to a point, they're correct...not that Biden caused those problems...the inflation and the economy problems started during the COVID lockdowns...and that's a Trump problem...but they still spin it at Biden because, in spite of the gains that have been made in jobs, the average American is still struggling with massive inflation.

Jeezus...I hope I'm wrong.

Damn, silly me I was under the impression he can't even stay away, well according to the Trumpettes. Maybe the MAGAs are right and I need to take the red pill so I can wake up and see reality for once.

And the pics and video I saw were probably generated, and the person from NY I chatted with and asked about this was probably a Biden Bot lying.

FUCKING DEMOCRATS!

Ask yourself this; do his followers ever fact check him? No, right? So why would he need to moderate himself? Out of some moralistic ideal? Lol! They not only don't fact-check anything about him, they'll ignore evidence of anything negative to the death when it's presented to them. I was bored and going back and forth with 2 MAGAs on YT earlier, they were claiming Trump was the best president ever. (how original) I said "he was ranked dead last lol" They said they could name 3 things that made Trump the best and I couldn't name 1 thing about Biden. I replied "Biden was ranked 14th best" I also brought up the 157 Historical Presidential Scholars from all party affiliations who ranked him dead last. And ranked Biden 14th best. They said "no" I said "if you Google this, thousands of links will come up, you should go and do some reading" it's true and so easy to verify. One said "nice try LOL" and the other said "You should turn off CNN"

nice try lol - when I only used facts and gave proof to back them up. I didn't even directly say anything bad about him, or call him any sort of disparaging name like I typically do. I tried to be a decent human being and have a rational debate with some MAGAs and boy I now remember that doesn't ever work.

I just mentioned the results of the scholar's findings. Even if you love the guy, the 157 experts used stats and facts to came to the conclusion he was the worst performing president we've ever had. And considering there are 157 of them, and they are far more knowledgeable here than I am. It would be silly for me to not agree that he's the worst president.
