I disagree. All this handling of trump with kid gloves is what has gotten him this far in life. He needs to be smacked with a dose of reality. Sentencing should have happened the second it was possible, so that he was in jail the second it was possible.

Don't want jail time to ruin your campaign? Don't fucking commit crimes. That's a you problem, not a government problem.

It seems like a pretty good chance since that is exactly what you do according to your own words:

The prosecutor didn’t ask for sentencing to be sooner rather than later and basically sided with the defense which basically forced the judge to agree that the sentencing was to be delayed. I heard that the judge was irritated with the prosecutors over this.

Delaying the sentencing until after the election deprived Trump of the chance to play the martyr and that could be good for everyone and a bad outcome for him. We'll see. We would be hearing about nothing but lawfare if the judge went the other way. And Deep State, Soros, activist judge and election interference, all day, everyday. I don't even think prosecutors objected to the delay that was requested by the defense? Not sure though.

How soon before Trump claims Merchan is "interfering in the election" by NOT sentencing him? This ruling might be why he whined and melted down for almost an hour then pout-mouthed away ducking questions.

Let's face it, even if he were sentenced, he wouldn't be doing any time before the election anyway. He's now not going to have his "Martyr" Fundraising. No grifting this outcome. He would've used the sentence as the big victim card he needs to give him some leverage because he has none now. Even if it's some kind of light, no jail sentence, he'll be wondering all the way to November 5th, if it will be worse ... prison time. And that ONLY a win and self-pardon can save him. Trump's panic and paranoia will make him more unhinged. Merchan killed that talking point/fundraiser...and most likely pissed DonOLD off.
