It probably would be easier if you just accept that your political party is a fucking personality cult of uneducated murderous shitheads, and maybe start reconsidering where your ideology truly lays.

Yes, it's a form of denial. IIRC he himself does not believe the election was stolen, but he's treating those who do as reasonable enough to not be considered cultists. Yet it's hardly a minor thing to disagree about. From the standpoint of anyone who sees reality, the conclusion that the people who do not are batshit is inescapable. It's not just like a normal disagreement over policy. It has to do with what planet you live on. Which is why I chose to use election denial as the benchmark for who is a Trump cultist and who is not.

dude, you're having epic trouble here. it doesn't really matter what wolfe said because we know what you said. Some facts:

--the low ball estimate for total number of diehard unquestioning Trump supporters is about 30 million voters. 30 million voters. That's a flat, raw number, that no one really disagrees with or even imagines challenging.

are you with me? Good, because that's the easy part because no one of any susbstance questions this fact.

Now, you think 10% of republican voters represent this demographic of Trump cultists? If you think 10% of republican voters actually = 30 million heads, that means you are arguing that the total republican voter base is 300 million people.

That's how math works, and it's pretty simple. The only point of my response is that you should reconsider your numbers; and also start waking up to the fact that you are a proud member of a fucking minority anti-American cult of treasonous assholes.

We know that a minimum of 30 million will vote for Trump no matter what (it is likely closer to 40 million). You don't deny this, I imagine. So now...maybe you should start to consider that the claimed 60-70% of total republican voters are the actual cult (as they themselves consistently admit to in polling). Do you recall the number of heads Trump got to vote for him in 2020? Also another telling number that, without even accepting the base number that all analysts and polls and actual history of voting records tell us, your 10% claim is ridiculous.

It probably would be easier if you just accept that your political party is a fucking personality cult of uneducated murderous shitheads, and maybe start reconsidering where your ideology truly lays.

So, do you honestly think that 300 million Republican voters exist in the US, thus representing exactly 90% of the TOTAL US POPULATION?

Because that is the reality that your claim is required to accept in order to be anything close to accurate. Do you accept that?
But Im not a Republican, much less a Trump supporting one.

edit: For clarification, Im not disagreeing with your math. What I disagree with is the 30M number. I think its high. But for the record, Im not dying on that hill.

Fair enough.

I dont think we have 70 million cultists. I think we have tens of millions of dumb people who've been lied to all their lives, and are also angry about how America is progressing.
Thats a surefire recipe for disaster. But its not a cult.

NOW, for people who take rifles to pizzerias, or drive over college students, or take rifles to overthrow the capital, or illegally acquire a rifle and go out of their way to hunt down and shoot protestors?
Yeah, that's a fucking cult.

I disagree as well. When you deny reality and will only listen to those who say, “only listen to me”, you are indeed in a cult. The whole dominion and fox trial would have been a wake up call to non cult members but it has done little to change the faith of the republican cult, just as none of the fraud trump has been guilty of (or settled with) hasn’t shaken their devotion either.

Does it mean every Republican has been brainwashed? No, they could just be ignorant about politics or even turned off or tuned out.

That's why most polls and voting records indicate that it's 30-40 million cultists, not the full count of GOP voters in '16 or '20. That's a rather fair number, and still represents something like a majority of the Republican party.

What gets me are to sooooo obvious talking-points they have so obviously memorized in tandem.
DeSantis: Weaponized Justice Department.
Tucker: Assault On Democracy.
Hannity: Soros Funded Alvin Bragg.

We know the shtick.
Like Lemmings, each repeat what the other do and say.
But I'm saddened.... one might expect a little more originality out of ones cult members.

Lemmings do not require originality.
For most of them, you could play the same recording of lies and fake rage day in and day out, and the viewers wouldn't care. They don't care if their crack is original or rehashed, as long as it feeds their hate.

Right wing propaganda adapts the “KISS” principle. They know their audience.

This is strong stuff and I do not disagree with a single word. I don't know who this guy is, but he's emphatic, direct, doesn't pull any punches... a must watch:

Edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Schmidt
Schmidt has been extremely critical of former President Donald Trump, and of the GOP for supporting him. In June 2018, Schmidt renounced the Republican Party as "fully the party of Trump".[11] In early December 2020, he stated: "The Republican Party is an organized conspiracy for the purposes of maintaining power for self-interest, and the self-interest of its donor class ... It's no longer dedicated to American democracy."[12][13][14]

I've seen him a few times being interviewed by MSNBC's hosts. Unlike Trump, this guy actually and truly tells it like it is.
I met him at a potlatch when he was up here for vacation and to buy some art. He said he was "inspired" with the way we all just get along and work together here, considering our population is about 50/50 native and white. For a right leaning guy he at least had his eyes open. I hope he comes back, now that I've seen more of his work. He bought a very nice pole for inside his house which you can see when he does an interview from home. First person I've met who introduced himself as a political analyst.

A founder of The Lincoln Project he announced on his podcast in IIRC 2020 that he'd just registered as a Democrat. Kudos!!!

For a guy that's used to doing what he wants when he wants and where he wants that would be so righteously tortuous. I think you're on to something there.
If things play out like it's envisioned by the prescient he may be put in detention because he can't help himself and will continue to lash out at the judge and DA. He's already started posting about their family members. Free speech has its limits. In the case of Trump his targeting people without directly threatening them can make them the target of people who will do his dirty work. The judge will have the power to put a stop to all that by placing Trump in detention during the trial and, I presume, curtailing his social platform activities.

I doubt that will happen, but it’d be the proper thing to do.

QAnon conspiracy theories saying that when the police go to arrest Trump today they won't be able to because you can't arrest the president. It will be revealed at that time that Trump is the real president of the US. Lol. I hope the picture of him in handcuffs make it into the press.

There are not going to be handcuffs (nor mug shot).

He's not panicked at all, he's playing a part. Trump is a salesmen who's spent his life selling Trump. He'll do that till the day he dies.
It never ceases to amaze me what sort of stories people invent about Trump. It used to be that he would never be indicted. Now that it’s obvious he will be and this is only the start - now he doesn’t mind and this is all a part of the plan.

No need to play 8-D chess here - he’s panicked because he’s scared of going to prison. He should be scared too.

I would think Mary Trump, his psychologist niece, knows best how his mind works.

When asked how her uncle is feeling about the indictment right now, the psychologist said that her uncle probably never believed in his wildest nightmares that such a day would come.

“And he's never faced real accountability for any of it,” she said, referencing the former president's racist rental practices in the 70s and 80s, his business dealings in Atlantic City, the insurrection on January 6, among other things.

“He is having a very tough time grappling with any of this, and he may not actually believe it unless and until he's getting his mug shot and his fingerprints taken,” Mary Trump said.
