What creep will even read his shit? It's always invective bullshit. You know what to expect from him, so why read his shit? It's sad that he has any "followers" at all.Hey, CAPS LOCK is on.

I wish it weren't so because it can only affirm the unfairness of the US's justice system.Sure many of us here would love this, there’s absolutely zero chance he’s going to be in an orange jumpsuit in gen pop.
Before everyone does a victory lap, and yes we need to see the charges first...what are the odds a jury unanimously finds him guilty that holds up on appeal?
No, in the general a lot of people will be thinking: vote for the Democrat or vote for the criminal? This is just the start. "Criminal" will echo continuously all the way to 2025.So. Anyone else a little bit worried about how this can be used to propel his 2024 bid to escape velocity.
I'd say decent. They aren't going by the seat of their pants. Before everyone does a victory lap, and yes we need to see the charges first...what are the odds a jury unanimously finds him guilty that holds up on appeal?
Oh, they'll get votes. They just won't get enough votes.I'm not so sure about that. The entire platform and messaging of the Republican party at the Federal level since 2016 (and perhaps earlier) has been about the danger of voting for Democrats, rather than the value of voting for a Republican candidate. That's why the Republicans have been able to get batshit crazy candidates through, because they have so effectively convinced voters of the horrors of the Democratic party that even electing the biggest dirtbag Republican is preferable in their eyes.
We don't know exactly what the evidence is, other than Cohen's testimony on the hush money issue. Yet we're hearing about "30 felony counts" which means this is way beyond the hush money issue. And we have no idea of the evidence on any of those other counts.
You're asking for odds of an outcome when we don't know the conditions of the game. Like wagering on a team without knowing whether the star quarterback is playing on Sunday.
Fair enough.
Again, need to see the charges, but wish the case in GA had been brought forth first. It still may.
If he gets acquited or multiple hung juries and the case is dropped? Will that be enough to portray himself as a martyr to gain enough sympathy votes? After the last 7 years, I want to say no, but this is the messed up timeline we live in. And yes, I realize he's lost the popular vote by a lot both times, but you all know it has been closer than that at the battleground state/EC level. It just feels like 2016 again, "LOL he has no chance."
Sure his loyal MAGAtard base will be even more convinced he’s their martyr but he isn’t gaining support from the rest of the voting base. Will that be enough to portray himself as a martyr to gain enough sympathy votes?
I read somewhere that he used 30 separate transactions to reimburse Cohen the full amount. It's difficult to predict the political impact of an acquittal.
If it's a conviction, however, he likely would not be allowed bail pending appeal, because that isn't standard. I don't see the NY court system cutting him any breaks. I don't see NY juries cutting him any breaks. And Trump hasn't appointed judges to NY state courts. That is one big advantage of prosecuting him in state court.
So if he's convicted and goes to jail long enough to cover the election season, while he can legally still run, he'd have to mount a campaign entirely with surrogates, never having a rally or speaking to the public at all. In fact, he has no First Amendment rights while in jail and can be gagged by court order to prevent violent incitement.
Under those circumstances, I see him as losing a chunk of center right voters, the types who don't think 2020 was stolen and who hold their noses to vote for Trump because they fear democrats. Those types aren't going to vote for a candidate who may be in jail for part or all of his term. I think if Trump is in jail, DeSantis probably wins their primary.
All that said, we don't know the evidence or even the charges. If "30 felony counts for business fraud" is correct, then the media has miscovered this for months now since they've only been talking about hush money. Which means all bets are truly off until they at least unseal that indictment and we are given some idea of the evidence supporting all these charges.
Maybe Trump will live long enough to run for POTUS and split the Rep vote for a few generals. Nice. Here's to hoping this shit rips the GOP apart and Trump runs as an independent splitting the party of fucktards apart across the ballots for the next 20 years. It's a fantasy, but it's my fantasy.

He's going to have a tough time burnishing his image from the courtroom(s).Sure his loyal MAGAtard base will be even more convinced he’s their martyr but he isn’t gaining support from the rest of the voting base.
I think the indictments are just starting and honestly I bet you he doesn’t even end up being the nominee because Republicans don’t want to lose again. It's difficult to predict the political impact of an acquittal.

Also, it's important for people to look at the people who are outraged by these charges, the Tucker Carlson's, the Fox News, the republican Trump surrogates. These are the people who are outraged by Trump's indictment. They weren't outraged by Trump's attempt to overturn a democratic election. They were not outraged by the violence on January 6th. They were not outraged by an illegal phone call to the Georgia Secretary of State. They were not outraged by an illegal phone call to Vladimir Zelensky. They were not outraged by multiple credible accusations of sexual assault and rape. They were not outraged by Trump's sexist, bigoted, homophobic, xenophobic rhetoric. They're not outraged by his white nationalism. They're not outraged by his defense of anti-semitism and neo-nazis. So with all due respect, no one should care that all these people are outraged by this indictment.
I read somewhere that he used 30 separate transactions to reimburse Cohen the full amount.
While that might be correct, getting any of them to admit it publicly may be impossible.I think the indictments are just starting and honestly I bet you he doesn’t even end up being the nominee because Republicans don’t want to lose again.
Republicans are mad about the indictment now because they don’t think the law should apply to them but once they’ve had a minute to think about if they really want a guy with a history of losing elections now under dozens of indictments then they may very well reconsider.
While that might be correct, getting any of them to admit it publicly may be impossible.
But even with all this faux outrage, they’ll support him until the end. Absolutely no shame these people. They'll never admit it publicly, but some of them if not most are actually hoping he goes to jail. This includes the people who are publicly feigning outrage over this. Like Tucker Carlson. We know that Carlson hates Trump and thinks he's bad for the GOP and for Fox News. Because he said so. Yet now we're supposed to believe he's upset over this? LOL
