I like how the neutral arbiter here thinks Hillary Clinton is guilty without a trial but Donald Trump is innocent even after conviction.
Appears Donald will have a second chance at bringing Hillary and Biden to trial for all the horrible things he has said they have done.
I am waiting for that to happen *again*

GA case is limping along, but I suspect even Fani Willis realizes that she’ll have to suspend the case against Trump and separate that case if she has any hope of trying a successful case against Mark Meadows or any other co-defendants.

As expected.

Might want to take a long vacation out of the country.
This is the best outcome Smith could achieve but yes if I were him I would probably move abroad as the risk of federal law enforcement being used to protect criminals instead of prosecute them is high. I mean that’s what Trump is promising at least.

Resigning is good though as this will let him issue his report without a Trump AG distorting it. Let’s hope he goes heroically and lays it all out in absolutely excruciating detail.

Trump already said way back when "we don't care about that anymore" when people were chanting "lock her up" after his first win.

Everyone knew from page 1 of this thread that nothing was going to happen to him.

People really think Jack Smith needs to flee the country???

If Trump follows thru with his threats of arresting all of his enemies.. hell yes he needs to flee. I think you are going to be in for a rude awakening come January as we watch Trump follow thru on his threats.

I keep trying to fight the thoughts of simularities of when Saddam Hussein took over iraq vs when Trump takes over this country again. Saddam Hussein immediatly had all his enemies gathered up and shot. Trump has threatened to do the same short of shooting them on day one. But if Trump's plan is to become a dictatory (day one he says), he may not shoot them, but he may throw them in a dark cell, with their day in court to never come.. It would be naive to sit and believe he would never do such a thing. It's that naiveness that has lead us to where we are at today in this country.

Trust me...on this, I get zero pleasure in being right.

Sadly I think he'll get off like he always does without any tangible consequences.
We all knew that Teflon Don could skate... if he won the election. But it was a little weird people gave BoomerD shit for thinking this.

I'm hopeful he'll still pay the civil penalties, but there's zero chance any of the criminal charges will ever stick. Even if one miraculously did (post 47), Donny would just run out the clock with appeals.

Wasn't Smith living in England prior to his appointment by the DoJ?

So. Hear me out.

Say Biden pardons trump for the sexual assault/ rape of EJ Carrol.

Pardoning Trump would mean trump would have to accept he is guilty of rape.

I would think that would be good for 2 reasons

1) EJC civil lawsuits should be easier
2) other women he raped would be much more credible

And no I was not drunk when I thought of this

I known pardon the criminal part
There is no criminal conviction or case with EJC.

It would also be a state case, not a federal one.

This is just bad performance art. There are much better ways to do performance debate to get the public on your side.

This is not a good admission.

Trump would never accept he's guilty though. This is the same man who got in trouble for paying hush money to a porn star. Then after he was found guilty and the trial was over. Was still maintaining he'd never had sex with her. We weren't talking a maybe accusation that was never verified. He did it but even to this day will say he never touched her.

Trump raped her, and declined from the outset to submit DNA to get himself off, instead he chose to spend a lot of time and money to fight it. It's what all innocent people do.

The Guardian piece says:

Judge Juan Merchan, who presided over Trump’s trial in New York, signaled in a written decision that he would sentence the former and future president to what is known as a conditional discharge, in which a case gets dismissed if a defendant avoids rearrest.
