Hate the game, not the playa.

No seriously, hate our convoluted tax system. Don't hate Donald Trump or anyone for hiring a CPA to do their taxes for them.

They paid precisely what they owed. They didn't cheat the system, they didn't circumvent anything.

This also isn't a republican thing. These types of exploits have been there long before the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
Lying one way about your assets for taxes vs lying the other way about the same assets for loans in completely ILLEGAL.

Face it fluffer.

Do you understand that any random person could be sitting on a billion dollars and not pay a cent in taxes? You aren't taxed on how much you have, your taxed on how much you made.

I won't comment on the story posted because I don't have any information other than a tweet.
Even just interest in a shitty bank account on $1B would result in more than $750 in taxes.

I'd imagine that the IRS auditors have been looking for criminal activity in Trump's tax records for decades. They haven't found anything that put in him prison yet.

You'd be wrong as the chance of being audited has gotten smaller. There are a lot of rich people who don't pay taxes because there is no down side. Like trump, their move when caught is to negotiate to a lower amount.

I guess representation without taxes is a thing now. Look at the useful idiots cheering it on.

Do you guys pay more than $750 in taxes? I guess you guys are morons then, right? How does that make you feel? A billionaire pays less in taxes than you do per monthly paycheck. What a patriot!

OK so, Trump is saying it's "fake news" that he didn't pay any taxes 10 years out of 15. NYT has the returns but won't release them because they want to protect their source. So far as I'm concerned, Trump is practically begging NYT to make those returns public.

How would releasing the returns compromise their source? They already described what they had: his tax filing from 2004 through 2018. If some accountant's name is on them, the name can be redacted. If Trump is going to say they're lying, they really should release them.

Trump can prove them wrong by releasing his tax returns

Well when he says it's fake, they should counter with that option loudly and repeatedly. Go ahead Trump, prove that they are lying and not you for once.

Kelly O'Donnell from NBC did just that; his response, of course, was "I would, except I am under audit".

Same shit, different day.

Hopefully this damages his ability to scam people now that it is well known known what a terrible businessperson he is. The guy has been one step away from losing it all for decades. It will be great seeing him go under once and for all even if it is not jail (where he should be)

Then the next reporter should ask him why he won't release under an audit since the IRS said it's completely allowed. And then every journalist after that should refuse to ask any questions but those until he walks out in a huff or answers it.

Meanwhile as a normal working class citizen we pay absurd taxes and they won't hesitate to find other ways to tax us on top of our existing taxes and if we don't pay we face big fines.

Then you have rich people like Trump who can avoid paying most of their taxes. Trump is not the only one guilty of this, practically all big rich people are. It's a piss off that this is allowed to happen. They should be required to pay their fair share like the rest of us.

Interesting break down. Tell us trumptards, how much of dipshit's (record setting) golf time is covered with $750? You know, that game he plays while a pandemic infected 7,115,000 Americans and counting, with 204,500 dead.

Having a desperate '"president" who enjoys quid pro quo, one who has to make good on $421 million in loans and debts in the next four years... yeah nothing to worry about there.

Also, haha

Trump can prove them wrong by releasing his tax returns

He's going to just wait, it'll happen one day...

He said himself many times in Tweets that he's being audited and his taxes are very complex and we wouldn't even understand them if he did release them. But he assured us he would release then. We just have to be patient. Very very patient. Would be awesome sauce if NYT put out an entire issue that's nothing but his tax returns. 4 years ago when he carried on about his taxes I thought he sounded like a dirty cheat, but now I'm maybe starting to lean more towards he's also a beyond shitty businessman and his taxes would show how inept he is at the thing he claims he's the best in the world at. Mind you I never thought he was a high level business man, but I didn't think he was this fucking stupid. If without any funny shit going on, he's doing so bad with his companies that he legit only had to pay $750 in taxes for the past decade. He shouldn't be managing a Dairy Queen let alone being the POTUS.

With that said, I still believe he's crooked as fuck too. People like me who never liked him, this news isn't that shocking. To his cult fan followers, I don't think this will sway many, if any.

Not paying taxes isn't the only issue here. This is further evidence of Trump's utter incompetence in business. Almost everything he touches, fails. He was lucky enough to get over $400 million from his father. He pissed it away on failed casinos. Then he got another $450 million from his reality TV show, which he has been pissing away on failed golf courses.

It's incredible that Trump sold himself as "the money man" to these people and that they actually believe him.
America has a lot of dumb fucking people.

Honestly I think he makes stuff fail on purpose, it's probably a trick to avoid paying taxes in first place. He can shift money around different businesses and have them fail strategically so he does not need to pay taxes, but yet remain wealthy. I honestly don't think he's that stupid even though he really appears as such. He knows what he's doing and probably has a team of crooked accountants and advisors helping him along the way too. Say you have a large sum of money you need to pay taxes on, just start a business with the intention of making it fail, funnel that money to that business, then make it fail, but all the contractors etc involved are basically owned by you, so the money just comes back. Stuff like that is probably part of his strategy. I'm no expert at taxes or accounting so I'm simplifying it here, but you get the idea.

the problem is what they saw on 'the apprentice' the thought it was real life and reflected his 'good business sense' and it showed nothing of the kind. anyone who's paid attention over the last 30 or 40 would know that,

why is it he did not carry his home state of new york in 2016? most candidates do. could it be the knew who they were dealing with in Donnie boy?
