I don't recall ever posting that statement.
I am over the whole "Trump will end democracy" thing. It's just FUD used to frighten rubes, a crock of shit. If Trump is elected president he'll serve for four years, leave, and spend the rest of his life telling the world his was the greatest presidency ever.
Just so we're clear, my opinion is that our republic will stand. The democratic process will continue to function as intended, and the fringes will continue to proclaim that the other side is a clear and present danger that must be stopped.

The only thing standing between him and a successful coup on 1/6 was Mike Pence. You are arguing that he won't try to do something that he ALREADY TRIED TO DO.

Yeah but there hasn't been a trial specifically on him trying a coup. In fact he hasn't been charged with anything that says "coup" so therefor he didn't do it. Checkmate libtard

No problem - here's a reminder.

Lol I remember everyone saying the same thing from 2016 to 2020. Then what happened? Trump tried a coup when he lost the 2020 election and the only thing that stopped it from working is that the Vice President refused to violate his oath of office to keep Trump in power. This time though, Trump selected someone for VP who has publicly stated he would have gone along with the coup attempt so that check is no longer there.

So since he tried not to leave last time what exactly has changed where you think things will go better now? Imagine an identical scenario to 2020 but this time the VP throws out those contested votes. What exactly makes Trump leave office?
Just so we're clear, my opinion is that our republic will stand. The democratic process will continue to function as intended, and the fringes will continue to proclaim that the other side is a clear and present danger that must be stopped.
Did you really just try to #bothsides this? Only one party tried a coup - the Republican Party. Remember, you agreed that Trump tried to get Pence to keep him in power illegally, so you've agreed it was a coup attempt.

You do know that he's not actually a convicted felon yet, though it may end up that way. Time will tell. In New York, Trump’s guilty verdict does not make him a “convicted felon" . This label will not be accurate until after he is sentenced.

Sentencing for his hush money convictions was postponed until at least September — if ever — as the judge agreed to weigh the possible impact of a new Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity.

How about 2 times convicted rapists

The media are saying how can Dems be hard on Trump after being shot. Easy just play what he has said and ask 1 question...

Is this what you want for our country? This compilation is a good example. Just play all his calls for violence on a loop. Play his claim to be a day one dictator and ask, "Isn't this a threat to Democracy?" Play his desire to suspend the Constitution.

Use his own words against him.

He already tried to end democracy in the US and you refuse to admit it.

Just because there's a well-documented fake elector plot (which is probably made up) and the infamous "11,000 votes" call (which wasn't even really a problem, he couldn't FORCE him to do anything) in addition to the whole Pence thing, he didn't get away with it last time, so that means the system works and he's glad to be a part of it. Besides, he should be able to post his opinion here without getting any blowback.

Trump was never convicted of rape.
Are you denying that a jury (your gold standard) did find that he did in fact rape/sexually assault a woman in order to award her millions in damages? This is a fact. Donald Trump is a rapist as determined by a jury of his peers.

Now is anyone shocked that a rapist picked a guy who said women should stay in abusive marriages to be his running mate?

I totally agree, if possible, he would try to manipulate the election again. And, he has a VP in Vance who would not stand in his way, as well as possibly both houses of congress and some local and state election officials that would support him.

HOWEVER, there is one hopeful caveat. It is very clearly stated in the 22nd amendment that Trump would not be eligible to run again in 2028. So he would have have to find some mechanism to get around this. Granted, he has the Supreme Court in his pocket, but I am not sure they would go so far as to overturn a rule specifically and clearly stated in the Constitution. It is also very unlikely that enough states would ratify a new constitutional amendment to overturn the 22nd. So the only way I see that he could stay in power is to claim some national emergency and cancel or postpone the election. Even in our crazy political climate, I am not sure that would fly.

I think the more realistic danger is that he would manipulate the election process to install a handpicked successor (Vance on one of his kids??) to let Trump continue to run the country from behind the scenes.

I think they would have Hamas kidnap Barbara Streisand so he could declare a national emergency to stay in office...
