The great irony is that if Trump has fessed up originally then most of this stuff could have been defused. But instead he lied, had Cohen lie, seems to have admitted to possible crimes regarding how the repayment was handled via Rudy, got his lawyer raided, and probably is recorded talking about the destruction of evidence or evidence that was already destroyed.

Committing a bunch of crimes to cover up something that, while embarrassing, isn't a crime would be the Trumpest thing ever.

This really intrigues me. Getting a search warrant against any attorney is tough, a wiretap is even harder but I can't imagine how hard it was to get both against the President's personal attorney. I've never seen anything that gives even any reasonable speculation what the potential charges against Cohen are, but I can guarantee you they are serious, big-time charges-not some election law failure to disclose type thing.

When the public knows what those charges are the sh*t is really going to hit the fan. And the fact that the government got the wiretap and the search warrant is a pretty good indicator they have what appears to be a rock solid case.
