I would offer the vet a chance to buy a clue as to why the parents of the slain soldier are pissed off at Trump but I don't think he would be interested in purchasing one. In addition, his thinking that the parents have not sacrificed, just their son, is just plain twisted.

Exactly. The Khans speech was about maligning the Muslim religion. Speaking about it ignorantly while ignoring the millions of Muslims who contribute to America everyday. He responded by further maligning the religion and the mother of a fallen soldier by implying needlessly she just wasn't allowed to speak because she's a Muslim.

Right now Trump is exhibiting exactly what the Khans spoke about and he is oblivious to the fact.

On a side note the release John McCain just made about this is incredibly powerful. No links yet but worth hearing.

With one, the fact that their son is dead is not the point. The fact that if Trump had his way, they wouldn't have been allowed in the Country in the first place and their son would have never served is.

The other was directly about her son's death and who she blames for it.

Humayun Khan, and demanding an apology. The letter was organized by Karen Meredith, a Gold Star mother who serves as Military Families Coordinator for VoteVets.org.

We are all Gold Star Families, who have lost those we love the most in war. Ours is a sacrifice you will never know. Ours is a sacrifice we would never want you to know.

Your recent comments regarding the Khan family were repugnant, and personally offensive to us. When you question a mother's pain, by implying that her religion, not her grief, kept her from addressing an arena of people, you are attacking us. When you say your job building buildings is akin to our sacrifice, you are attacking our sacrifice.

You are not just attacking us, you are cheapening the sacrifice made by those we lost.

You are minimizing the risk our service members make for all of us.

This goes beyond politics. It is about a sense of decency. That kind decency you mock as "political correctness."

We feel we must speak out and demand you apologize to the Khans, to all Gold Star families, and to all Americans for your offensive, and frankly anti-American, comments.
