I fully support that Trump needs to reveal his taxes to the public, but this is not the way to do it. This reminds me of the people at the state DMV offices were turning info over to ICE to help deport people. In both cases the ends does not justify the means. Now if some government employee pulled an Edward Snowden and leaked his returns as a public and took the punishment for it, I’d consider them a national hero.

Perhaps you can suggest some other way to do it. If NYS changed the law because of Trump, I figure he'll only be the first whose returns are provided to congress, not the only or the last. It's probably not the first time that the exploits of a sleazy grifter have prompted a change in the law, either.

I have a way to do it. Democrats grow a pair of FUCKING BALLS!

I'm sick and tired of them playing Maquess of Queensbury. There is already existing law that would have gotten them by now. It states when the finance committee requests the returns they must be turned over. Lame ass committee chairman wants to take it to court after Treasury secretary refused a subpoena. This is likely to drag out until after the election.

Here's what they can do...

The Consitution gives the Speaker of the House arrest powers. Get the Sgt at Arms and a security force, march over to treasury and arrest Steve Mnuchin. One of 2 things will happen. If it's a standoff we have a constitutional crisis. That will force the court to make an express ruling on the tax returns and the law is unanbiguous. They will be turned over. If Mnuchin is arrested he's too much a goober to sacrifice himself in jail so he will turn over the returns. If he doesn't let him rot in jail.

Could be. But there is no law against doing business with Russians.

There most certainly is a law against doing business with foreign entities when you are the president, its in the god damn constitution, the emoluments clause. You remember the constitution right? Its that little booklet every Republican claimed they used to carry with them along with their flag lapel pin.

^^ The guy who spends his days demanding the rule of law be followed in all cases, except when he don't.

I guess you missed the "takes the punishment for it" part of my statement you quoted. I'm fully acknowledging that doing so would likely be unlawful and subject the person doing it to penalties, yet would still be a service to the American people and world. Following the rule of law doesn't mean blindly obeying all laws, it means you don't simply ignore them when you feel it's inconvenient. You work to change the law, and and if you feel they're so morally wrong that you can't wait for them to be changed, you willingly break the law and face the consequences of that to (hopefully) hurry along that desired change in the law.

Trump Jr. willingly broke campaign finance laws and because of the claim he didn't know he was breaking the law he seems to be getting away with it.

If I get pulled over by a cop for speeding I can't claim I didn't know the posted speed limit.

Mofo is so afraid for everyone to see his finances (tax returns). If he had nothing to hide, why would he be so afraid. Guilty as charged. That's what's echoing in his subconscious. He'll claim something else, but we know.

And there's no law against a blowjob. It's the lying that matters, right?
A blowjob? Some places I think it might still be illegal. I know, ridiculous, but we live in a rediculous country. The POTUS is proof positive. Anyone who professes to believe that guy is seriously retarded or a dedicated denier of the truth.

This is way overdue. I'm honestly a bit aghast at how long the Trump admin was able to stall this once the returns were requested by the appropriate committees. It should've been a matter of black letter law that they be turned over.
And we don’t know how many more attempts he will take to try to stop this, they will all fail but he’ll still try.

I can't help but wonder how Trump reacts when his tax returns are finally public. Claim the copies Congress gets are fake? Insist they don't tell the full story of his wealth? Blame someone else for his failures? Some variations on all of those?

I know he won't hang his head in shame, because his pathological narcissism will prevent him from ever admitting mistakes or wrongdoing. But it's pretty clear he's desperate to hide shortcomings his taxes would reveal.

For those who want to keep track of how much money Trump made overall by rising people, you can use the following.

C++:
#include <iostream>
#include <string>

using std::cout;
using std::cin;
using std::string;

double START_AMOUNT {9999999999.99}; //Let's assume this is the amount of money in total
                                       //Trump made from law suit cases till now.

int main()
{
    while(true)
    {
        cout << "Enter in the amount of money Trump made from the new law suit case.  :  " << "\n";
        START_AMOUNT = (stod(cin) + START_AMOUNT);
        cout << "From law suits, Trump has made : $" << START_AMOUNT << "\n";
    }
}

I'm not even a programmer and I know that's going to shit itself. You misspelled your variable.

Apparently, shall has returned to its traditional meaning.

Clearly, when Trump ran for the office of the presidency, he had absolutely no idea what it meant to be a public servant and had every idea that the public was going to work for him.

Yeah, it's a good question, come to think of it, whether any incoming President before now has been as psychologically unprepared for the role as Trump, or as unaware of what the job would be like and what the demands of it were. Even Washington seems to have had a stronger grasp of what this (entirely new) role would require. There have been really bad presidents, and even wicked or corrupt ones, but has any gone into it with so little understanding of what the job actually would be like?

I'd say Trump tops the ranks for "least aware of the job's responsibilities," even if he's not necessarily the worst in terms of performance (corruption, however...).

It was pretty clear that he assumed the presidency would be like a CEO role, and specifically a CEO as he defined it: focused on his personal profit, demanding absolute loyalty, circumventing rules if they get in the way. Hell, you could tell he didn't entirely grasp the idea that he could be voted out. My pet theory is that he had dictator-for-life inclinations not because he explicitly planned for a dictatorship (although he remains envious of dictators), but because he didn't fully understand that he was a public servant whose position was fleeting.

Many have said that the US was saved from autocracy by Trump's incompetence, but I'd clarify that to say the country was saved by Trump's inability to understand how the government was designed to work.
