Not really given what he said about mccain.
And the Kahn family. And taking a Purple Heart from some vet and saying "I really wanted one of these, and this was way easier!".

So yes, when viewed in a vacuum I accept it as just terrible wording from a man who has the best words. But when you look at it combined with his history you throw that vacuum out the window and realize it's just the person delivering it that sucks.

Personally, it was bad on paper. But if you listened to the bulk of his speech, this is way overblown. "Strong" was just a bad choice of words.

I'm no Trump fan at all, but this is just an unimportant slip of the tongue.

Maybe in isolation it would be unimportant, but given how frequently Trump's comments require analysis to determine their meaning and intent, I would call this another sign that he lacks basic speaking skills that we should require our President to have.

She isn't winning by 40 points because of partisanship. I'm sure there are candidates that will out perform or underperform the basic partisan numbers now and then but I doubt we will ever see a 10+ point victory again in our lifetimes. I read an analysis recently that showed Obama himself would only be performing slightly better than Clinton is.

Just shows you how sick the American electorate has become. Huge numbers of people have convinced themselves to vote for a sociopath in Trump because he's on the red team.

Yeah..I often wondered what the "impending doom" (much like the sign in post #36) is to the nation with a Hillary Clinton presidency ..I hear unhinged things about her such as she is "evil"... like in a biblical sense. This makes no sense. Did they find child pornography on that email sever or something, or did she commit premeditated murder or some shit. That's how I would define evil. I'm not a big fan of her in general, her politics and her personality, but "evil" or "doomed" never comes to mind.

I know there is a lot of GOP voters that are repelled by Trump but they're more terrified of the Dems getting to appoint two Supreme court justices. What exactly they're terrified of I'm not sure, but they seem to think that Supreme court swinging "leftish" would be the end of civilization or something.

If it wasn't for the Supreme court vacancy and probability of at least one more in the next four years Trump's support might be considerably lower.

At least one more? Kennedy, Ginsburg, and Breyer will all be in their 80s (upper 80s for Ginsburg) during the next four years. Thomas and Alito will be in their 70s. They may all live long, healthy lives and may all choose to keep working. But, to be honest, the next president should be prepared for up to 6 replacements.

I'm willing to give Trump a pass on this one. He says so many intentionally and clearly erroneous things that it seems silly to have to parse his words. I mean a guy who repeatedly dissed a gold star family and brags about being a billionaire leech by not paying taxes, who sucks up to a Russian dictator, wants to scrap NATO, etc, etc.-well you really don't have to look far to find really dumb ass things he has cleared said.

Very true. But to the Hillaphiles, Trump farting would make national headlines - 'TRUMP LAUNCHES LETHAL CHEMICAL ATTACK ON HIS OWN BRAINWASHED ZOMBIE HOARDS!!!!'

It's not like Trump ever served. I'll just put this down as ignorant on his latest comment.

Actually, the next prez will get the vacancy (assuming the senate holds on it), and 1-3 more, given their age.

John huntsman, Olympia snow, and I liked the 2000 version of McCain until he went hyper partisan.

Fair enough . I liked Moynihan and Lieberman - oh, and James Traficant just for the entertainment value. And I even liked a few things that Dennis Kucinich had to offer.

Every time Trump's tongue slips it leaves spit on somebody. Minorities. Poor people. Women. Muslims. immigrants. former POW's. Gold star families. PTSD sufferers. people with disabilities. Sooner or later he'll have spit on everybody & there will always be those who excuse it.

Vote Vulgarian. Vote flaming asshole. Vote for the most incredible know nothing puh-rick who ever caught the spotlight. Vote Trump.

So, you're saying that Donald, at his rallies and in the debate, should just totter out to a lecturn, stand there mute for an hour or so only making facial gestures and grimaces, then leave?
Hehehehehe
Yes! Trump ought not utter a word nor make any gestures that are not scripted for him. He simply don't communicate goodly enough when in extemporaneous mode. He should have taken the time to interface with the teleprompter until his speeches approximated a non teleprompter delivery. His die hard supporters don't seem to grasp the gravity of many comments made by him... I wonder why that is... Oh well...

My guess is that the gravity of a person's words can only be measured in the real world where the only real dangers exist. Neuroscience tells us that the conservative brain has a penchant for living in altered reality. To the liberal brain this idea is quite terrifying and accounts, I think, for the massive liberal revulsion we witness for Trump. He is actually quite dangerous.

Conservatives by definition have a penchant for living in the past. In this case before civil rights, women's lib & such.

I figure that Trump utters what he does without any agenda to effect what he does say. I look at his comments much like the donkey saying he'll move the land closer so to chomp on the rest of the grass. He's more interested in keeping his feel good intact that he might be dangerous if he felt that something nutty might embellish that feel good need he has. Reality has little meaning to him other than what might be helpful to his needs. In my opinion, of course.

Conservatives are the real advocates for women.

Certainly can't say for anyone but myself, but the women who know me say I'm a true gentleman. In spite of what you might think, I don't throw certain words around casually. I stand by what I said. Hillary deserves what I called her.

His remark was completely misrepresented. All of you fuckers should feel ashamed.

Perhaps, that doesn't change the fact that Donald Trump is a certifiable sack of shit. He is perhaps the most loathsome individual to ever gain the Republican nomination for president.
