Trump has a better public record regarding LGBT issues than Clinton. He had to put it on the backburner to appease evangelicals, but that's one of the things you should be the least worried about him messing up.

DC receives plenty of funding and has crap schools, for example. Obviously it's complicated to look at it from a state level when it school quality can vary significantly from county to county, but the correlation between funding and student quality is fairly modest afaik if you exclude outliers like magnet schools and consider local demographics (e.g. Massachusetts and Connecticut generally have excellent stats by most metrics, how do we know it's due to quality public schools creating good citizens vs the other way around?).

What makes it even tougher to believe is that it meant taking on ABC, CBS, NBC, NPR, CNN, MSNBC and all of the rest except one to make it happen. Trump's victory is one of truly epic proportions.

But the heart of his victory is rooted in the swinging of the pendulum. Eight years of Obama with all the bullshit stat's, the exponential growth in our debt, the collapse of our standing in the world (by design), the enormous lack of transparency, the huge lies told to us to pass legislation on a purely partisan basis, legislation that has got us in worse financial shape than before, the enormous influx of people that are takers and not makers (and couldn't be in the Obama economy) have all contributed to a Trump Presidency. The progressive vision for the U.S. has been beaten back but the same players, unless ridden out of town on rails will still be in play and they've got over two months to further damage the system.

And they absolutely will.

The name of the game now is to create the foundation needed to blame the Republican Party for all the ills foisted upon us by eight years of Obama. These people are masters at it and they have huge support among people that have been taught they are the smartest people in any room. Mix in a media that is going to be hell-bent on revenge and well, it's going to be interesting.

It's pretty obvious the cost of running a school in an expensive city is more expensive all else equal. If you've been to schools in rich vs poor areas you wouldn't be saying what you are now; think about that a bit, you're not stupid.

Yeah, I don't know what else to say. It looks like he will win the election while losing the popular vote so while that's as far from a landslide as a win can be he was still much more right than I was.
