Well if accurate this is interesting.

Fox is the only news sources that breaks 50% for conservatives. Everything else less than half trust.

For liberals there are several options which 2/3 of liberals trust.

Why do 10% more Republicans distrust the Weather Channel?

Because Trump isn't drawing the storm paths?

They distrust the Weather channel because talking heads at Fox\NewsMax\GOP content creation factories told them that Weather Channel promoted climate change "conspiracies"
It's a small percentage due to the limited scope of the conspiracy.
Not as popular as the other talking points being pushed

What's the Republican beef with Reuters?

It's European and it lacks US focused editorial content. In other words...too many journalists reporting on facts and stuff.
Compare Reuters content to FoxNews content and becomes painfully obvious why Republicans avoid Reuters.

Also keep in mind that FoxNews is a large entertainment company with programming broadcast everywhere.
FoxNews has labelled all non-murdoch properties as "mainstream media" that is not to be trusted.

Yeah, but lower than "the MSM", of CBS, ABC, and NBC? I guess the name is awfully foreign, too...

Broadcast stations are still thought of for local news, sports and weather. They'll get a small bump for that.

Mentions and commentary of climate change. How dare they?!?
I'm surprised at the general distrust of any media by conservatives, even the right leaning stuff.
If it isn't from some youtube or twitter basement conspiracy imbecile, it's untrustworthy to them. They need to pretend that they're somehow better informed because they buck the actual news as lies and conspiracies. Again...projection all the way down.

We all know how most of them feel about objective, verifiable facts.

that's crazy that the weather channel only gets 50% of conservatives.

what the hell is wrong with the fucked brains of these people that half of them can't decide if they are being lied to about the fucking weather or not?

seriously, what the fuck is wrong with these self-described humans?

I think we're almost at a point where we need a further classification of humans. Those that want to evolve and those that want to regress.

That's depressing on so many levels.

I'm a bit surprised to see the Guardian rated so low overall ..... most of their articles I've read seem on the more "truthful/direct" side of the news.

Of course that COULD be the root of the problem!

What's interesting to me isn't so much the outlet preferences as the overall degrees of trust. Even Fox only rallies about half of conservatives, at least according to this study.

I'm not surprised by MSNBC and Newsweek ranking low, though. I'd still trust them over Fox and other firmly right-wing outlets, but they hurt themselves by wearing their political allegiances on their sleeves. I just wish the AP and Reuters rated higher, as they're practically legendary for their neutral stances.

I suspect some of the "hate" for both AP and Reuters has to do with the crappy ad's that pop up on both sites when using a phone/tablet to view.

I've yet to find an ad-blocker that works well in Android or IOS to the extent it can on a Windows PC.

It's the collateral damage after years of peddling "fake news" and "you can't trust the mainstream media" bullshit. The message worked so well that even right wing outlets have taken a hit, but so long as AP, Reuters, NYT, and WaPo are universally distrusted by conservatives it's still a win for Murdoch et al.

Anybody who trusts the Weather/Nonsense Channel is not to be trusted. Their judgement is defective and they should wear a helmet at all times.

Any survey or chart that includes it is not worth the pixels to display it.
