I am trying to clean install Windows MCE 2005 on my P5B Deluxe based system and running into some trouble. I have 2 SATA drives (one WD5000KS with 2 partitions (boot/data) and one Seagate 7200.8 for backup) but they aren't configured for RAID, just SATA. When I start installing Windows in blue screen mode it goes through the initial part but then on reboot I get a message "Unable to load Operating System" or something like that.
My initial reaction is that the MCE installer needs some SATA drivers but then again, isn't the P5B supposed to make my drive appear to be IDE to the OS? I thought this whole SATA driver thing was long dead. Anyway, the ASUS disc doesn't have an option for creating just plain SATA drivers anyway, just RAID.
Any ideas? Thanks!
