Taking some time off school and working a bunch to make some money and have some fun. Basically burnt out on school
While im taking some time off I want to learn (or at least get the basics down) of a couple programming languges. I've taken a computer science class before but it was all concept based and used "psuedo" code as they called it. Heard that Java is easier than C++ to learn when it comes to object oriented programming.
Christmas is coming up so I was going to ask for a couple books. Heard good thing about the Deitel & Deitel, and Oreilleys books. "Java in a nutshell" by Oreilly and Core Java by someone else. Also want a good book on web developement tools. Any ideas?
Any tips for how to go about doing this. Gonna set up a schedule to spend x amount of time studying each day. Any really good resouces online. Already checked out java.sun.com and it looks really cool.
Anyways thanks for the help sorry for rambling
