Trying to set up a repeater.. not having much luck.

I have a wrt54g and wap54g both with dd-wrt installed on them. No security on at the moment. If the repeater is hard wired to the router I can wirelessly connect and get out to the internet on the repeater.. otherwise I cannot, and just get limited connectivity though I can still connect and configure the repeater from the laptop.

I've added all of the router mac addresses (wan, lan, and the one on the bottom of the router) to the repeaterd mac filter and vice versa on the router and have put all my laptops and pc's mac information on both of them. I don't have to put all of the router mac addresses on the router mac filter as well do I? Didn't think that'd make any sense.

Well, I've gotten a ton of information from a ton of sources so would think that I have it set up correctly, but guess I don't. I have no security enabled on either device atm. If anyone has any idea what could be keeping this noob from connecting.. that would be great!!

Set the repeater device to "repeater".
Insert WPA2 passphrase
Choose "Join this Network" and choose your AP.
Select "WDS" and add either devices WLAN mac address to the others fields.

Unplug repeaters network cable - complete.

Will give that a try as soon as I get home. Its already set up as a repeater with a virtual ssid and a physical one matching the router. Will try the wpa stuff.

Ugh still not working.. getting 0% signal even after putting in the correct addresses
