I didn't know where else to put it but, I know it can be done, the leader holds 3:52

I'm pretty bad at making turns and drifting smoothly. And eyes always end up getting watery. If I have to focus hard or for long periods of times (when coming up on a turn or taking shortcuts).

If someone can explain the principals it would be great.

You know what I dislike about racing games? I can have the fastest car in the world in zero to whatever speed and no matter what every computer controlled car at the start of the race immediately pulls out ahead of you by several car lengths NO MATTER WHAT!!!

It is a bullshit way of making the race "competitive" for the player, nothing more, but it is completely unrealistic.

That is true but staying ahead of most AI cars isn't hard. I used to play online and I don't know why but it always started me in the last position plus traffic would get the worst angles on me everytime. And I got to crash into everyone elses accidents. I hated it. Also I don't know if you noticed but the "fastest car" get's rekt at every turn.
