Trying to wrap my pea brain around M.2 SSD's and possible affect on the GPU

I have a crosshair VII Hero for my 2700X, and I'm going with a 970 (NVMe) M.2 for my primary. With the mobo having another M.2, I'm considering getting a cheaper M.2 SSD (NVMe) as a secondary to mainly just eliminate the cables. In doing a little research, or trying to, I'm reading that running 2 M.2s may have an effect on the GPU. I'm only planning on running 1 GPU in the obvious PCIE X16/X8_1, which is just below the M.2_2 slot. I'm guessing (not sure at all) if I only ran 1 M.2 I'd use the M.2_1, which is between the PCIE X8/X4_2 and PCIE X4_3 slots and there would be no affect on the GPU? If that is correct, would using the M.2_2 cause the GPU to run at X8 instead of X16 and would that cause a noticeable drop in performance/FPS?

I looked at the manual for your motherboard, and I don't see anything that says it will affect your primary GPU slot.

At the end the detailed specs, it says that

The PCIE_x8/x4_2 slot shares bandwidth with the M.2_2 slot.

That slot is the 2nd full-length PCIe slot. As long as you don't have a 2nd GPU installed there, you should be fine.

I'm not so sure of the latter one as it seems every time I use a public bathroom, many people seem to pee everywhere besides in the toilet.
