TSA Question

Quick question for you guys. I've checked the TSA website and am not sure about the answer. I have pads to clean my face that come in a container that is bigger than 3 oz. They are not liquid but I guess that have a little bit of liquid in them but you can't see the liquid. Is the container with the pads allowed? I've searched and can't figure it out. Thanks!

Are they that expensive? I would just put them buried inside your carry-on. At worst they'll dig it out and you call tell them it's not a liquid. I really doubt they'd take it.

In my experience, you will get happier results putting all that kind of stuff in a ziploc bag and putting it on top in your carryon. You can't "bury it" - they use x-rays. The scanner picks it all up, and they may or may not want to take a closer look.

The couple of times they've wanted to look in my carryon, they took a quick glance at everything in the ziploc which was laying right on top and let me keep it all. I think there is a bias against people trying to hide stuff and if you make them dig down through your stuff to find what the scanner picked up, they are more likely to make you throw it out. At least from what I've seen while waiting to go through security.

put them in the 1qt ziplock that your toiletries are supposed to go in... unless they are too big to fit in their original packaging in a 1qt ziplock, or they are saturated with liquid and over 3 oz, or they smell like nitroglycerin should not have a problem...

No matter what happens at one checkpoint, that is no assurance the same criteria will be imposed at the next one.

That is considered an Approporiate Tool. Keeps citizens off balance, so they don't know when their civil rights have been violated.

Better to use an overnight service and make sure your stuff is there when you need it.

If you're going somewhere that the "special cleaning pads" won't be available, then put a few in a zip-loc bag to get you by until you arrive and put the rest of the container in your luggage. Otherwise, just buy more at your destination and save the hassles.

The TSA screeners can be so variable as to what they'll let on from location to location, that I wouldn't take the chance of having them disallow it since they seem to be important to you.

Just put them in your carry on. Worst comes to worst they'll make you put them in a plastic baggie, but very doubtful as it's not a liquid.

You'll probably be fine. If you're THAT worried about it just stick it in your checked bag.
