I'm sure there's at least 1 security camera that caught the "big one" coming in. I remember seeing a Discovery Channel show about tidal waves and they had footage from an Hawaiian tidal wave that reached the top of a 10+ story building and wiped it out. Pretty damn scary.Originally posted by: Amused
Also, I'll bet the worst waves were not filmed.
Thats a bunch of crap, no tidal wave 10 stories high hit hawaii since video filming. Im calling shens.
If a 9.0 earthquake only sent a 30-40 foot tidal wave this past week, how big a quake do you think is needed for a 10 story high tidal wave? Get your facts straight.
that would be a "megatsunami" . the last one took place in 1958 in alaska. megatsunamis are the byproduct of landslides displacing water at a very speeds. tsunamis caused by eathquakes do not produce huge multi-story tall waves. megatsunamis are rare and (to my knowledge) none have ever been caught on film.
