How do these kind of things rival current top aircooling? I've been considering overclocking moderately (3.2-3.5?) when I upgrade to a C2D and was wondering if anyone has experience/thoughts with these? Both temperatures and noise are a concern for me. I'd rather not have any fans I run on the "high" setting. It piqued my interest when I noticed they are about the same price as things like the Tuniq Tower...

Thermaltake watercooling is pretty crappy really. The general consensus over at XtremeSystems is bad water cooling isn't going to be any better and could actually be worse than good aircooling. Now I've never used any watercooling - I want the good stuff but can't afford it right now - but I've been reading a lot about it over at XS and the thermaltake stuff is, well, "ick" for lack of a better term.

You don't need H2O for low noise performance cooling, air will do just fine. I don't use water cooling but if I did it certainly would never be Thermaltake.

I'd suggest the Zalman CNPS-9500AT if you want performance and low noise in the same package. The 4 pin PWM fan will keep things very quiet at idle but has the ability to automatically ramp up speed when needed.

Thermaltake in watercooling goes by the name of ThermalCRAP.

I hope you didnt buy it yet. If you did refuse package from UPS. That kit shouldnt even be concidered a watercooling solution.

Tuniq tower will pwn this kit and its on air.
Sycthe Ninja will get close to this kit and its also on air
Big Typoon same with ninja
CPS9700 will most likely pwn this kit as it performs close to the Tower.

Simple ansewr, NO dont get it, you want cheap effective watercooling, get a Corsiar Nautilius500 instead. If 150 is too expensive for you, drop water all together, and stay on air.

Why am i qualified on giving this advice?

I think there are probably a few people i would listen to in watercooling. One member who doesnt come on anymore, and any member that is already involved in TECs. Ive been h2o cooling for almost 4 yrs now and i have gone though my shares of nightmares, and successes.

Listen to a vet in h2o cooling. Please dont get that kit..

Thanks, looks like I'll be going with one of the air solutions you recommended. Glad I asked before I bought anything!
