I think we've kicked around this dead horse about enough.
So he's fired, so what? No one ever liked him in the first place. It's like popping a pimple, once its popped and gone it's forgotten.

What I find interesting is how Hannity is acting and reacting. It's like the Hannity show doesn't quite know what to do? Or how to react?
There is pretty much no reacting from Hannity at all, and a lack of focus when simply acting. Hannity starts his shows with rehashing some old lame talking point on how bad Biden is or over something Biden said, or Hannity simply defaults to trashing Biden's age. And the viewers say.... DIDN'T WE HEAR THIS SAME CRAP LAST WEEK?

And while Hannity does his Biden bashing thing on Fox, there is definitely a lack of Hannity conviction. It's like someone in a classroom reading a paragraph out of a book to the class. I don't know if Hannity doesn't know what to say? Or how to say it? Or if he's afraid he'll be sued or fired for saying the wrong thing. Whatever it is with Hannity these days, it's certainly weird.
I honestly believe that Hannity is scared shitless and doesn't know which way to turn.

A newsletter I receive put it pretty well: Fox News is using Carlson's termination to remind its hosts that it (and really, the Republican party) is the one dictating the agenda, not the other way around. Even a superstar can be fired if they question the official line, whether or not the comments are public.

I don't know if Hannity is thinking exactly that, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's on edge.

Now that Tucker is gone wonder if Gregg Abbott will follow through with pardoning the murder of the BLM activist?

All of those talking heads at FOX require being able to lie and lie and lie some more in order to maintain their ratings, especially when it comes to slinging shit at Murdoch's intended targets. Now however, it seems the likes of Hannity etc. aren't getting specifics from Murdoch himself and that leaves his on-air propagandists playing a guessing game as to where the line is as far as how much crap they can load in their slingers and who they can fling that Grade A shit at. Sucks to be them at the moment. I'll stream some of their content to see how they're behaving for the giggles although it will take downing some Pepto to do it.

Guys, with all this talk of different reasons they may have fired poor Fucker, it's so confusing. But it turns out the answer is very simple. Why didn't I think of this?

Love that guy! At least in that moment. I'm surprised Fucker doesn't have 24x7 security. I've often wondered why someone hasn't given him a bullet to the head by now.

People are getting shot over leaf blowers. I'm not necessarily advocating but if there was ever justification....

Please don't walk up to this line again.

I'm going to ask @pcgeek11 my last questions for him on this subject...

Everyone in this forum has seen footage of Jan 6 either live or in news clips.

Has your wife seen the footage either live or recordings? Did you two discuss it? What was her opinion of it? Was it closer to an attack on the country that threatened Democracy or closer to a benign tourist event?

Good. We're going to hold you to that. It's simply not best practice to repeatedly "call out" another poster on . . . pretty much anything. No harm, no foul this time.

Well looks like the hail of fire and brimstone bullshit from Tuck-n-Run is going to be sorely missed by his disciples. Bill O'Reilly now has good company to keep themselves pissed off about being denied their First Amendment rights to lie their NDA choke chained asses off about some things they really wanted to get off their heaving chests.

HaHa, how's it feel to be relegated into ignobility and abandoned by Murdoch? Miss all that green salad he once showered you with yet? Miss the celebrity status that was so humiliatingly yanked out from under you yet? Never fear, Trump will no doubt join your sorry asses sooner or later, and that future cabal you jackasses will form up will bring you new fame and glory. Ha! as if.

That's's great that some people go tv-free, whether from cable or tv channel streaming services. But the fact remains, many people shouldn't have to in order to enjoy content they watch - and thus the Fox News business model works. That is the simple reality.
That's how all cable channels make their money. They bundle everything together and make it an all or nothing package.

Sure. But Fox News is top dollar compared to their peer packages, so it's quite disproportionate compared to others. But regular cable channels also make a ton from advertisers. Because Fox can rely more than other channels on their fees to providers, they can afford to shed advertisers for some of their most highly watched shows, like Tucker had. That is the fundamental difference.

I have a far dimmer view of Tucker Carlson than most people who would visit this thread. That is to say, to be more clear, I haven't a real idea of who he is, what he's done, what he did specifically as a top host at Fox News, reason being I haven't had cable TV for 30 years. However, I have rather tangentially paid attention because to have no idea who he is and represents is to be under a rock in America. I hear he's as reprehensible in his own way as Donald Trump.

Well, I'm reading this piece in The New York Times, which is very informative and probably would be to most people reading this thread. I'm pasting a link that should get you beyond the NYTimes paywall for the next 14 days:

“The Lord had talked about CNN; the Lord had talked about Don Lemon; the Lord had talked about Fox News [being] in a deep amount of trouble, along with other mainstream news media,” Green said. “And the Lord has talked about how he was going to silence them and bring them down.”

I'm curious about this "Lord"; does he favor the Yankees or the Mets this year?

Odd their concern for Tucker Carlson vs the #1 killer of children.

Can their phoniness be more evident?

This sort of thing is a source of great confusion for me. Satan got Tucker fired but it's all part of god's plan? So Satan and god are working together? Or?

And why do they need to figure out how to win, this is god's plan, whatever happens is his will.

I've argued with many fundies about how of God is all powerful and he created everything that means he created Satan and let's do his thing. They never follow this logic. Truth is many fundies fundamental believe Satan is more powerful than God, although they'll never admit.

Religious logic twists itself into pretzels to fit whatever their current narrative is. If you believe in an alimighty God who created Satan and all that, then you have to believe that Satan is doing part of God's work. Regardless of whether you believe Satan is more powerful than God, at the very least you have to believe that worshipping Satan is, in a way, part of God's plan.
