Tuniq T 120 Copper Pipes not heating

Hi guys, I need some advice on my new heatsink, I installed and tested it with my C2D E6400, which has yet to be overclocked. I'm reluctant in doing this as I don't feel the Heatsink is functioning optimally. Although the temperature is around 40 degrees, the copper pipes which are attached to the CPU are cold. In comparison to the onboard copper pipes on the mobo, which seem to be MUCH warmer. Anyone have any ideas why this might be?

For one, there's no fan on the motherboard heatsinks. Also, from my experience, heatpipes don't really start heating up until the temperature's higher than 50C and even then they're just warm.

Well, I have have re-installed my Tuniq many many times now as it just was not keeping things as cool as it should. IT still isn't.

Have my e4300 OC'd to 3.15 at 1.4V and it still goes up to 60 degrees celcius at load! It's normally around 55.

From all the reviews I have read, I should be getting much better temps. Either this Tuniq isn't working as it should, or I just have a very, very hot CPU...

Have you ever checked your chip for flat? My 6600 was quite concave before I lapped it.

You may need to just accept the fact that for your system the Tuniq possibly is not the ideal heatsink......

Bat as was said previously did you check to make sure thye base is flat and also the base of the CPU is flat too??

Hey mate I have same mobo and cooler and cpu as you. My idle temp according to speed fan is 30-31c and my max load can break 50c. This in a well sorted antec 900 with silverstone fans. Anyway If I were you I'd make sure your surfaces are nice and flat etc and then also make sure that your tuniq is tight. Don't be afraid to crank it. I suppose though it is possible that there is a defect with your tuniq cooler. Something to do with the heat pipes perhaps. Try to exchange it for another one or ebay it and get the thermalright ultra 120 pro or whatever. It seems to perform better and isn't so damn big. Thats what I'm considering doing even though I'm getting good temps. This tuniq scares me... I'm afraid to move or shake my case lol.

I had a Tuniq and I too found it either overrated or just plain defective. I switched to water cooling and haven't looked back. I have a quiet machine running at 3.6 GHz stable now. With the Tuniq it was a noisy, unstable 3.6 that couldn't be relied upon.

Speaking of the Tuniq, which way did you guys mount it? In other words, which way is the fan blowing air?

When i had my tuniq i had it blowing air right out the back of the case, the 120mm fan that was behind it was a 103cfm fan.... So she ran really cool. Never went above 35c non oced at full load. e6300 btw.
