I have a few different tunnels to use at different locations (WRT54G, Monowall, and Fortigate). The Sveasoft WRT54G and Monowall are setup with pptp tunnels which I can connect to just fine. The fortigate is setup with an IPSEC tunnel which I can connect to just fine. I would like to utilize the Internet connection of the server to which I am VPNing to for Internet access. I would prefer to use either of the pptp tunnels availabe from the wrt54g or the monowall. I want to use this while I am at school or in the local coffee shop to somewhat-secure my wireless connections.
I can connect to all easily, and I can use a RD session on a system over the VPN to browse Internet, but I would rather route Internet traffic from my laptop through the gateway of the VPN server. I would prefer the sveasoft wrt54g. I read in a forum post linked below that a route must be added by dos command. However, I cannot interpret the syntax, especially 'metric.'
The gateway I am connecting to has an address of 192.168.3.101. Can anyone help me with this or point me to more entry-level instructions.
from http://forum.bsr-clan.de/viewtopic.php?t=1982 :
"route change 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0 192.168.1.1 if 0x20004"
How do I use this on my system?
thanks,
collin
