Turbocache query

I was reading a new article on Inq, about the release of the 7300 with turbo cache (think I read one on anand as well). But I quickly wondered how much benefit comes from overclocking the FSB/Ram when using Turbo cache?

I do not use any turbocache cards or play to (use 6800gt/u agp), but I was curious how much of an improvement it would make. I also know that its never as good onboard memory (Im not an idiot), but just how much speed can be increased? Are you limited how much memory you can set for turbocache? Anyone actually test this out yet?

well it shows how much slower older slower memory can be, but doesnt show how much faster it can be with much faster (oced) ram. thanks for that info though.

I would imagine that the higher latency of going through the PCI-E bus coupled with the fact that graphics RAM is faster than anything you are likely going to be able to OC system RAM to would mean it is going to be relatively slow regardless of what you can OC your FSB to. As far as how much RAM you can delegate to a TC card, it depends on the model. At least for the 6200TC cards, what differentiates the different models is how much local RAM is on the board and how much RAM can be addressed via TC.
