anyone have a 4 speaker set up with the santa cruz and notice that when you use the hardware equalizer the rear speakers dont seem to be effected? it seems to me that the rear sounds a lot duller that the front. Im sure its not my speakers because when i switch the outputs the front sounds dull and the rear fine. anyone know anything about this?

I don;t seemto have that problem, although I have no idea what you mean by "hardware equilizer." There is no hardware equilizer included with any of the Santa Cruz retail packages as far as I know. On my Klipsch speakers there is no appreciable difference between the front and rear outputs.

There is a hardware equilizer; check the "EQ" tab on your control panel.

I haven't noticed any dullness with my rear speakers, although they are, admitedly, pretty cruddy in and of themselves.

Are you sure that this isn't just because you are listening to the rear channels?

If the equilizer is found in the control panel, then that would make it a software equilizer. A hardware equilizer is a box with sliders for the different frequencies. Or is it perhaps a software controlled hardware equilizer? I didn't know the SC did that.

The equilizer is in fact hardware and is controlled via software. Just like volume, synth, and effects.

Thats pushing it. Thats like saying a program is a hardware controller because it controls what is displayed on the monitor. I have a hardware equalizer on my stereo, my turtle beach has a software one in its driver.

The Santa Cruz and all cards base around the dsp chip like hercules sound cards are hardware equilizer... all the fancy tunning is done in the dsp as hardware the driver lets you control it with software... ifya goto companys website that makes the dsp it will tell you that and I'm sure santa cruz site will tell you that as well.
