I have an old santa cruz card but I don't know which version it is or even if there is a new version. On the card is says TB400-2541-02 if that rings a bell to anyone. I'm wondering if its ok to use native xp drivers or if i'll have to go to the website and also download the drivers/utility software?

it's not even clear cut which software im supposed to even use.

I got a TBSC and I use the 4193's and they work just fine.
No problems at all!

Go for it! Lots of improvement from the 4161's.

what sort of improvements? ive been using the 4161s for a long time.

Been using the 4193's since it's been released. Haven't had any problems yet.

do I need that audiostation program as well?

No. Haven't used it in years. The only advantage AudioStation (and Windows Media Player) had over other similiar music apps was that it supported HW acceleration of .mp3's, but this was going way back. I think support for HW acceleration of .mp3s was dropped from the drivers a long time ago.

In any case, I use Winamp for playback and EAC+LAME for ripping/encoding.

I am wondering how I can check the driver version. I installed the 4193 driver, but when I right click My Computer->Hardware->Sound etc->Properties->Driver....it kept saying 4161. Please help.
