Watched the first 3 and gave up on it. Shame because I really like watching the lead actress. first noticed her in THE STRAIN.

May give up on CONVICTION soon also but TIMELESS has been a lot more enjoyable than expected.

I've been watching Conviction and it's not bad, but it's not great either. The cases are meh, and the character interaction within the team isn't really compatible. With NCIS and Rizzoli & Isles you're mainly watching the drama between the main characters. Hayley Atwell is great, but there isn't much support.

Took a rather unusually long time, but finally some network cancellation news; Dead of Summer and Conviction taken to the plank.

ABC has opted not to pick up additional episodes of new legal drama Conviction beyond its original 13-episode order. The series, starring Hayley Atwell, is not being pulled from the schedule. It will stay on the air, playing out its 13 produced episodes, though the drama won’t necessarily stay in its Monday 10 Pm time slot for all of the remaining eight episodes

Sucks because it's Hayley Atwell... but it's not that good.

Edit: Looked this up and found out that Notorious got its season order cut from 13 to 9, so that's probably dead. I tried watching this for the first few episodes... couldn't really figure out what the show was about. A lawyer or a TV news producer, one story per episode or continuous story?

And my schedule just cleared right up. American Horror Story finale is next week, Conviction is dead, and Notorious I watched briefly is dead. MacGuyver didn't do it for me. Too bad they cluster the stuff I do watch on Tuesday and Sunday.

And you still haven't watched Westworld...

^Westworld requires HBO. I can't spare $10/month... I'm going to go drink my $20 per 375 ml bottle of rum now.

Edit: And ABC is showing Conviction, a new episode, at 1:05 am in the morning in a bit. My local channel showed it at the regular time Monday.

In a year where the masses have protested privilege, ABC wrote drama where Washington Insider's nepotism got her off from consequences and she was dating DA.

Westworld, Divorce & Insecure renewed by HBO.

Man with a Plan, Great Indoors, and Code Black receive 2nd half fulfillment orders.

Westworld ... renewed by HBO.

I'd be interested to see its viewership numbers. At least out of the people that I know, it isn't as popular as Game of Thrones, and it appears to be more expensive. I'd argue that the show is simply far slower paced and lacks obvious hooks at the end of an episode. If someone expresses that they're not too hooked yet, I usually recommend just waiting until the season is over and binging the show as it seems to be far better without the weekly lull.

Well, it cost the same amount as Vinyl... So they've done worse.

Wow, even the promos for those shows look terrible. They must have nothing else.

Code Black isn't terrible...but still just a typical hospital/doctor show...just a bit grittier than most.

Great Indoors was OK for the pilot episode, but it's fallen flat since then. Man with a Plan...Matt LeBlanc...no thanks.

There'a no tomorrow for Kenneth. CW unofficially cancels Frequency and No Tomorrow by declining 2nd half orders. Through a new licensing arrngement between CW and Netflix, there is a small chance the shows could have enough interest for a 2nd season.

No Tomorrow had it's moments but it didn't have enough going on to sustain your interest so that's not too muchof a surprise. Kind of the same thing with Frequency although I bailed on that pretty early so I can't say how they developed that after the first few episodes. I did like the concept and the time manipulation. Kenneth I haven't seen or heard about.

I really want to like Westworld. The production values are great and the entire thing looks like a Hollywood blockbuster with a Hollywood budget. But the story has left me cold. There's no real drama or rising tension like there was with the movie. I don't care about any of the characters and I don't care about what's happening in the park. It's like leafing through a brochure, pretty pictures and little substance.

Has no one talked about the Mom from Corner Gas? She passed away 2 days ago. I loved that show so much.

American Horror Story finale tonight. That should free up my Wednesdays.

Also reading stuff, found out Elementary may be on the chopping block, but it's CBS owned and now into season 5 so may stick around for syndication money printing.

It just hit the syndication number of episodes this season, so that won't be a factor in the decision.

Oh, REM. OK. I guess I should have gotten that. Thanks

I sort of see your point in the sense that the idea of android consciousness has been done to death. But I don't really think that's where this is going. I think this is more of a Sherlock-Moriarty type of situation. You have Ford and Arnold basically doing battle through proxies. That's on one hand. On the other you have what may or may not be some mystical meaning-of-life stuff with the maze and the search for that is a sort of search for enlightenment.

So there are definitely some interesting aspects to the show. Plus you have this whole new storyline that Ford is implementing and we don't know if that's a third arc or if that's part of his battle with Arnold.

Especially now that season 2 has been ordered, I'm thinking of this season as more of a grand setup and the best is yet to come. I'm sure we'll get some hard answers to some things by the end of this year, but I really see it taking off from there.
