I've seen no advertising on this -- don't think anyone in Canada picked it up and I don't see American commercials that often. Still, seems like a DOA show.
Especially since last season wasn't that good at all.FX must be feeling frisky with the coin purse, after previously given American Horror Story a renewal, they've tacked on 2 more seasons to the backlog.
FX has just renewed the annual limited series for another two installments.
This is all the more remarkable because the show was already renewed for a seventh season airing this fall (could it be set at sea?). This pickup is for an eighth and ninth round in addition to that. Assuming producers continue to generate one new horror tale per year, this will keep AHS on around through 2019.
Much like Murphy did with Roanoke, the topic of season 7 will not be revealed beforehand. “It actually will be shrouded in super secrecy,” FX CEO John Landgraf said at the Television Critics Association’s press tour on Thursday. “Ryan has yet another really innovative idea for how to do something fresh and different with the franchise that audiences haven’t seen before, and there’s a marketing promotional hook around that.”
Future seasons, however, are a little more unclear. “We know explicitly what next season is about, which is seven, but we don’t know what the eighth and ninth seasons are about,” Landgraf says. “We’re extending it out of trust and goodwill but also, Ryan made a commitment that he would continue to run that show and that he would be involved as he has been in the past with… designing and building the show from the ground up. So I honestly couldn’t tell you what seasons 8 or 9 [could] be, but I can only tell you that I’m really excited about season 7 and I’m utterly confident that seasons 8 and 9 will be equally original and interesting.”
Hmm, I didn't know that Colony got renewed.

Is Will and Grace going to have the original cast or is this more of a spin off/reboot? I can see their doing it with the original cast. Everybody seems to have fared reasonably well over the years and no one is such a big star that they can't be bothered to go back to their roots.

Like the show but just cant buy the guy playing Bob Lee. So different from the books, should be tall and lean and more "down home". Does that bother your husband too?
No, it doesn't. He says that, once you accept the idea that Swagger isn't the same character as in the books (as in 50 years younger), his appearance is immaterial. I, on the other hand, am with you, but there seems to be an abundance of short males in Hollywood these days.
I have to say, it's not one of my faves but I do like the show. It reminds me a bit of Harvey Birdman which was also a niche sort of comedy. I like the combination of live action and animation and I think they do a really good job of pulling that off convincingly. Very impressive. But I can see how it's not going to go over bigly in the mass market.Just started watching Son of Zorn... hilarious. Ratings don't sound great though.
