TV Purchase Help

Ok so I have decided it is time for a new tv. My budget is less than 1500, so I cant go top of the line. I was looking at these two sets. I know they are way different but let me know how you would spend your money. The smaller one is about half the cost of the big screen but has a better picture. The big screen however comes with a massage chair if I buy it at best buy. Tell me what you think.

I go with Rear-Projection Monitor. just make sure it can do 1080i res on DVI or HDCP.

Why on earth would you buy a CRT tv now-a-days?

Get an LCD rear-projection set. Forget the chair, and you could end up with at least a 46-50inch set from either Sony/Samsung.

Are you near a fry's? They have some pretty good choices in your price range. i.e. 37" lcd tv for $1199

don't get lcd tv :! i don't like lcd tv :!

the samsung tv is good but i would go to big tv store and bring a dvd movie like some darkish type like sin city and tell them to play it and compare the image quality of the big tv and buy the one you like.

Yep, but you can probably find better prices for that, or 50inch Sony LCD RP.

Just choose what looks best to you. Don't let others sway your decision. Some people like rear projection and some people don't. It's up to you to decide your own personal preference. Go to BestBuy and look at all of the technologies: crt, crt rp, lcd rp, dlp rp, lcd, plasma, and go from there.

One thing I would like to know is which one will last longer? I thought I might get better advice here than from a salesman.

I am also a couple hours from a frys but I might make the trip next week.
