Looking for some recommendations. I have a 50" plasma, DVR box, PS3, and 360 that need to live in/on it.

depends on your setup

you could wall mount the tv (30$ monoprice), then use a wide low cabinet to store equipment, and then place decoratives atop the cabinet... and/or have more wall space for decorations... wall cd/dvd shelves...etc

I'd prefer something in dark wood. I'm willing to mount the TV, but I still need a stand to hold the other components.

This is the one I have for my 50" Panasonic plasma Bello 522-T

Racks and Stands is the best site to make a choice, even if you don't buy from them, just use them for research if you find a better price elsewhere.

You can narrow down your search HERE

They got a $200 one at Costco that has built-in TV mount. Looks real nice. All glass and metal. I don't see it on their website and it's not offered at all B&Ms, so you might need to drive around.

Look at Target/Walmart. They usually have a decent selection and the prices are pretty good.

Walmart and Sams club have one just like it. they are kinda flimsy and cheap.

i have a pretty nice dark wood one from target that was about 140. its pretty solidly made actually, of course it is not solid wood so dont chip the outside finish. target actually has a pretty decent selection online for you to get an idea from.

also check out this bookcase:

http://www.target.com/Exotic-R...rombrowse=1&rh=&page=1

a lot of people use it on its side to hold their consoles, dvd players, media, etc.
it is, however, NOT strong enough to hold a tv. i saw it at target and it is not very strong, strong enough for the small stuff - so if you mount your tv, its an option.

right now the crate and barrel website is giving me lots of errors, but my sister has a really nice entertainment center from there, about 400 bucks. but it is very stylish and functional.

if u want to stay more high end, west elm has some nice stuff

Here is my stand.

I like it, behind the right door is a Wii, X360, and Xbox. Behind the left door is a PS3. In the middle, there is the cable box and the sound receiver (obviously).

I used two cinder blocks and two 2x6 in my old place. Got sap on my Wii controllers, wouldn't recommend it.

nice! I saw this at ikea the other day and was tempted to get it, but wasn't sure to go with the wood look or the clear glass. But this looks good.

Anyone else want to post their setup?

There is a whole thread in Audio/Video section of the AT, Link, Enjoy!

That picture is from March, since then I have replaced the TV and changed the receiver/speakers out. I'll have to take a new picture later tonight, for, um, insurance purposes.

this stand was from wal-mart. I was the best I could find for the stupid number of components that I have.

Here are some Sauder models at Walmart. I bought this one for my parents. I couldn't use a very large stand because it was going to be in a corner and I also couldn't cover a floor register. I put a 42" plasma on top of it. The stand fits on top OK, the TV sticks out a little on each side. You just need to take your time putting one of these together for them to look good. It turned out to be a very nice looking piece of furniture. You can have most shipped to store to avoid shipping charges. They may or may not stock one you like.
