Does the quality of the video from the tuner card depend on the graphic card? Because I would like to get a tv tuner but I still have a GF2 and prob wont upgrade my graphic card till the summer.
not really. With mine, the tv quality depends more on the signal strength on the cable. Lower channels here (SE MI, comcast) have a weaker signal, I don't get fox on my computer, but it comes in fine on the tv in the other room.
I've used this card with both a gf2 and radeon 8500, and the image quality was more or less the same with the tv tuner.
Not really. The TV card pushes the readily scaled video stream into an offscreen "overlay" buffer in the graphics card's own RAM, and the graphics card combines it into the main display surface in realtime. So all the interesting stuff, de-interlacing, comb filtering and the likes, happen in the TV card (or don't).
