does it really matter? everyone will have their face planted to their phone anyway...
Some medical offices have these.
Wonder if that just implies cell phone conversations (i.e., "take a call")??? Are they going to prevent/discourage people from texting/surfing/playing games while they wait?
In any event, it really doesn't matter...most of the patients will ignore it anyway since they are special and the rules don't apply to them...
Which wouldn't change a thing about people using their phones for games, Facebook, etc in the waiting room...Some medical offices have these.

I have a doctor that has a sign posted in all their rooms saying something like "If you're on your phone when the Doctor comes in he'll refuse to see you". I'm not sure how often it happened to make a sign over it, but I can see why. Of course the guy is always ten mins + when I'm waiting in those rooms so I'm not sure how he expects people to not use their phones..
Doctor offices can officially go fuck themselves with those kinds of notions. If I had a dollar for every time I show up to an appointment at a given time (and usually I'm 10 minutes+ early) and had to sit there for 45+ minutes I would be fucking rich.... A lot of times they would then call me and take me back to the room where I wait ANOTHER 10+ minutes.
Doc offices talk about charging people who no-show or are 15+ minutes late to their appointment.... Until we can do that to the doctor's office for not seeing me within 15 minutes of my appointment time you can go fuck yourself if you think I'm paying for being late once in a blue moon.
I agree with the sentiment but you have to understand they have little control over how long their patients keep them by asking further questions, etc. You wouldn't want your doc running out of the room or appearing impatient, so they have to balance their act. Of course not all docs are equal either.
Who knows, maybe patients are keeping them longer because they have to contact someone in the middle of the session. Or they have to wait for incoming information. Juggling more than 1 patient at a time can be tricky too.
The appointment time thing is not as easy as you want to believe, especially as the day moves on. It's not like they purposely want to extend their day.
Mine had them looping a DVD or tropical fish doing fish things. Obviously meant to be relaxing while you're having stressful procedures done with pointy things all around your face.My dental office even has TVs on the ceiling so you can watch the news talking about Trump while you're having your root canal!
A fairly new trend this is.
It's odd but I've been to 3 dentist in the last 10 years and they all had large saltwater aquariums.
My Chiro only plays episodes of Andy Griffith on a loop.
