People love to hate Comcast, but I have no complaints about their service.
How much do you have to cough for their service and how many times do they increase their rates?

I had to call TWC to have them switch over to the new modem and the hard part was remembering to use https for Google instead of just http with the old modem.
The sooner Google Fiber spreads across the country the better.
Why would this be a modem-dependent issue?
Who said high speed? This $43.99 is for TWC Lite (2 mb). I'd gladly pay $30 for your faster internet.

TWC rasing rates again. 3rd time in 16 months, up 46% for me.
Their cheapest internet option where I live went from $29.99/month in Oct 2012 to $43.98/month in March 2014. A 46.6% increase in 16 months. Yea! No speed bumps or any other improvement. Just higher prices to justify their cost to Comcast. I already used up my discount for threatening to cancel and stopped their modem fee by buying my own modem. Time to actually cancel I guess.
I have no reason to post this, but spreading more hate is always good in this case.
I guess a link would help because I'm not posting my bill from today. http://www.syracuse.com/news/index....rease_broadcast_tv_fee_internet_cable_tv.html
For clarity: this is the slowest available TWC Lite (2 mb/s download, 1 mb/s upload) but in practice is 1 mb/s each way.
Where is our resident cable-company sycophant to tell you how you're wrong and you should gladly take it up the ass on internet bills?

I'd have to look at my bill, but I think it's around $75/mo for basic cable TV and internet.
Great for you.Uh, TWC has been advertising 2Mb down/1Mb up for $14.99 here for several months and states that it is not a promotional price. Hell, I've considered going backwards (from 15 down/ 1 up) to it to save money.
People love to hate Comcast, but I have no complaints about their service in off peak hours.
yup...expensive!
Great for you.
$43.98 here for Lite if you rent their modem: http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/dullard/TWCLite.JPG
I have to cancel, wait, then sign up again to get any promotional price.
I just called again. The representative tried to lower the rate and got an error message that she had never seen. She spoke with her manager and is unable to give me the $14.99 rate. She then suggested I call tomorrow to talk with customer solutions department who might have the power. But they only work from 8 am to 8 pm.I just don't understand not having consistent pricing across the board. Have you called and asked to speak to the 'retentions' department? Regardless, I suspect that if you call to cancel, that's exactly who you will speak to.
Not sure of your location, but I just checked at TWC.com and Syracuse has the $14.99 listed (again, Everyday pricing, not a promo).

For my location the Everyday Price isn't listed on their website as an option. But a better Basic Internet (3 mb vs 2 mb) is listed at $29.99. That will be my fallback. In reality, I bet I have to cancel. It is currently in my wife's maiden name. I can then resign up in my name and probably get their $14.99 price.Based on the "Everyday Price" being listed, I would say that is false advertising. I see nothing about being a promotion. TWC, like 99% of ISPs, are greedy ass pigs.

Same here. I am bailing and going to the dark side: AT&T.
