Disable the cache on the browser: http://coreyau.blogspot.com/2011/09/disable-weboss-flawed-browser-cache.html
This will basically fix the problem with the browser loading from cache. No slowdown or anything because downloading the page fresh takes less time than loading the page from cache then getting annoyed and hitting refresh.
Also, I noticed that images I downloaded weren't being indexed by that gallery app. Removing the muffle system logging patch fixed it.
This fixed my biggest complaint with the browser not refreshing. And I removing muffle system logging patch fixed the gallery issue. I also liked the Thumbnav patch but I replaced it with swipe left and right gesture patch instead since I mainly used the Thumbnav to go back and forward on the browser.
I'm enjoying using the browser again with the above fix. Now with the Splashtop Remote app, I've everything I need to be fully happy with the device. I agree with SunnyD that this is the best $85 I've spent on a device. I even splurged and bought all the accessories for this thing like the Touchstone, keyboard, and case. I couldn't pass up 2 HP covers and a keyboard for $47 deal shipped direct from HP.
splashtop isnt working well for me. tablet/laptop keep disc me out, even though wifi signal good.
tablet/desktop in vpn wont connect. desktop in vpn refuses to sign into gmail account. very odd!

after update, it seems all the mods have to be reinstalled
Also, if you disabled browser cache before the patch, you will need to disable it again.
Yeah, the "Patches" section of Preware is gone on my Touchpad after the update. I had uninstalled "Advanced Reset Options" and "Remove Tap Ripple" and went to reinstall them and can't find them. I'm sure an update to Preware will fix all of this.

If I go to available packages I don't see patches there, however if I go to installed applications I see patch and all the ones I installed listed there.
The only patch I was unable to uninstall so far was the Muffle system logging one it gives and error message and points to some log file.
The updated browser works alot better. Did you just disable the cache or did you try the browser first. I noticed pretty much first time I visited the forum. When you view the threads you posted in and they have new posts the title is bold. Once you view the thread and return to the sub-forum the threads are no longer bold. No need to refresh the page anymore. Used to have to refresh the page to see new posts which has a pita. Didn't seem like disabling the cache helped much to me before. Haven't done extensive testing yet but seems like the update was for the best.
I'm just gonna leave my 3.0.4 stock for now. I'll give it a couple of weeks and then maybe the tweaks will all be redone/fixed. Seems responsive enough for now.
Yes, you will see the installed patches and you can uninstall them but you won't be able to reinstall them since patches aren't there in Preware. I got clarification from precentral.net and they said the existing patches aren't certified for 3.04 and when they are, they will reappear.
Also, the issue you have with Muffle System Logging is known. Not sure if there is a fix yet.
the latest update screwed audio! sometimes audio is distorted, and its awful. a simple restart will fix it.
anyway to revert to the older fw????

Yes wipe your tablet with the webOS doctor.
Also care to expand on "screwed audio" I haven't noticed any issues!
