So, been playing with the touchpad since getting it Tuesday. First tablet device for me. Thoughts so far are:
-It's smaller than I expected. Based on this, I would be ok with an 11 or even 12" tablet, and 7" and even the 8.9" is pretty much out of the question for me.
-It's heavier than I expected. Not too big of a deal, but it does get tiring holding it for extended period of time.
-The battery life is pretty damn bad. less than 3 hours of general use (browsing, email/IM, mp3/some video) and down to 20%.
-the OS is surprisingly simple. My sister, who can't figure out my android phone for the life of her, figured out the touchpad within minutes. I, on the other hand, keep trying to hit the bottom left corner, expecting there to be a universal back button. There are still a few things I haven't figured out, but it feels very apple-like in a bad way (ie. very arbitrary in how you do things, and not much offered in terms of customization)
-the browser, for the most part, is great. However I've ran into a few sites that forced me to the mobile version, and there doesn't seem a way to load the desktop version at all.
What I've done to it:
-update to 3.0.4
-dev mode enabled
-turned off logging
-preware installed
-installed thumbnav and private browsing
still looking through preware for other things that might interest me.
currently holding off on OCing since it feels decent enough at 1.2ghz. and considering how bad the batt is already, I'm concerned about further degrading it.
haven't found a way to get hulu working on 3.0.4 yet
