The Fury X is starting to stretch its legs. HBM looks like it's a solid combination for super high resolution.

Clearly 4 GB limitation questions can be laid to rest (at least for me), if it can handle 3- 4k monitors on some pretty demanding games then 4 GB isn't a/the bottleneck. I don't doubt there is an outlier but for 99% of games it's clearly not a limitation. I was curious as to how that would turn out since 4 GB does seem small, especially after being used to AMD cards offering the most VRAM in the price range. I personally still find the price just a touch high, although the AIO cooler does add a premium. I'll be curious to see how the driver optimizations play out.

Why are they comparing reference 980Ti/TX?

SLI not working on TX really? But fine on the 980 SLI?

Tweaktown has a history of posting nonsense or not controlling parameters.

Yes, the 4970k is twice as fast as the 4770k in this test.

And managed to cut 50W off idle somehow.

Interesting but I can't help but want to know how it would compare to something like a 390X / 980 and below, only for the extra context. If the case to be made is how good are the new gen cards, lets look at how bad the old gen cards are too.

Yup ignore TT like plague lol, in their recent review the 980Ti numbers were like 25% higher than Tx sometimes....

What I don't get is how more of the major sites aren't reviewing crossfire vs. sli and eyefinity.

I want all the (unbiased/accurate/professional) data on the table to make accurate assessments. Currently there are only a couple sites that even have dual cards, almost none with frametimes/fcat.

Pcper has 3 Fury X cards, the review will probably be out this week if I had to guess. They said on the podcast that they are working on it.

Not saying tt number aren't erroneous but why are people crying about fury x being compared to reference 980ti? Wasn't the reference 290x used despite not being available while people go out of their way for reference nvidia cards (I don't know why lol).

Yes. I thought reference coolers were the best way to go for multi GPU. Who wants to dump ~500W of heat directly into their case?

As for their funny Titan X SLI numbers, look at Hardware.fr SLi review of their reference 980Ti. It throttled badly due to temps in that config. Could simply be a case of sample variations amplified by running extra hot in closed sandwiched SLI setups.
