No idea what point she was trying to make (I'm assuming she's not a moron), but I do feel bad for her.

Once her plane landed, her being excited and looking forward to a bit of an adventure, she took her phone off airplane mode and it blew up with so many emails, texts, tweets, and voicemails that she must have thought the world was coming to an end. Then 5 seconds later she realizes it's "just" her career and life as she knows it. That must suck.

I think the statement was intentionally absurd and the whole joke was making fun of people who think that being white makes you less likely to contract AIDS because more people with AIDS are black than white. Maybe if she worded it differently people would see that better. Like "everyone knows white people can't get AIDS!"

Yeah, silly woman doesn't even know what year it is Needed much more of a filter I guess. I wouldn't be surprised if she never uses twitter again after this.

It's still kind of scary thinking about the extreme backlash she probably got over something she may not have really meant in a racist or offensive way. And if her employer didn't fire her I get the feeling anonymous would have started harassing them and people associated with them...
