Why is it ok to say offensive but funny things if you're a comedian, but not if you are anything else? Please explain.
Michael Richards would like a word with you. You did add "funny" though, Kramer went for straight up offensive.

All of this media blow up is going to make her basically unhirable, which is really way too much punishment for a stupid tweet.
The real question is how many of these situations are needed before people realize what they should and should be posting online.
I'm personally afraid to use my real identity for anything I do online.
Wow, her autism tweet was disgusting. How did she keep the job after that one?
Eventually people will learn there are tens of thousands of people who monitor social media looking, hoping, to find something they can become outraged about and make an issue of. And if the issue is about being offended, then none dare object, and someone must be punished.
Rising intolerance for minor social transgressions is a symptom of increasing class stratification and declining upward social mobility.Yeah she should have known better, but should this really be a stoning offense? A great many people just need to get over themselves.

Steve Martin learned an important lesson about lasagna last night ... the dish can get racial.
The SNL alum was cracking grammar jokes on Twitter .. when someone asked, "is this how you spell lasonia?"
Steve's response ... "It depends. Are you in an African-American restaurant or at an Italian restaurant."
Seconds later the 68-year old actor deleted the tweet and apologized. But the floodgates opened, the original tweet went viral and Martin atoned again: "I did apologize. But again, a second later I realized what an offensive thing I'd done ... In retrospect, bad joke."
A penne for his thoughts.
Some African countries have up to a 25% AIDS rate.
Not sure I see the problem. She made 4 statements, and I'm not sure which is inaccurate or offensive:
1. Going to Africa
2. Hopes not to get AIDS
3. She's kidding (this could be the problem? Maybe she wants aids?)
4. She's white
Why is it ok to say offensive but funny things if you're a comedian, but not if you are anything else? Please explain.
I think the statement was intentionally absurd and the whole joke was making fun of people who think that being white makes you less likely to contract AIDS because more people with AIDS are black than white. Maybe if she worded it differently people would see that better. Like "everyone knows white people can't get AIDS!"
Still in pretty poor taste though.

Tell me you just didn't say that.People actually expected her to have a handle on pc behavior whennshe used to work for the WWE and Vince Mcmahon?
Most people in most situations don't like to be offended, dumbass. A clever analysis of a controversial situation is the exception.
