I honest to god can't figure out what this is or why it was even made to begin with. It looks like such a worthless waste of somebody's time and offers no benefit in searching.

Some companies do that to generate revenue for charitable causes, or other things. I don't see much point in this case.

IE6 doesn't have tabs. All this does is replicate the concept of tabs using DHTML.

It creates pseudo-tabs within the page. Do a search and then do a second search, and you'll get it.
